    Abstract: A touch panel includes a plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of second electrodes, and a plurality of wirings. Each of the plurality of first electrodes has a first portion formed on a layer different from that on which the second electrodes are formed and intersecting the second electrodes, and a second portion formed on the same layer as that on which the second electrodes are formed, but separated from the second electrode. The second electrode and the second portion of the first electrode are formed on a layer different than the layer where the wiring is formed. The first portion of the first electrode is connected to the second portion through a contact portion formed in an insulating film made of a negative resist between the first portion and the second electrode.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: a first display panel displaying a first image; a second display panel displaying a second image; and an image processor generating first and second image data based on input video signal. The image processor includes a first differential filtering processor, a multiplier that multiplies a grayscale of the image data subjected to the differential filtering by the first differential filtering processor by a correction coefficient, and a first smoothing processor that performs smoothing processing on image data obtained by adding the image data multiplied by the correction coefficient and the image data based on the input video signal. The image processor generates the first image data based on the image data based on the input video signal and the image data subjected to the smoothing processing, and generates the second image data based on the image data subjected to the smoothing processing.

    Abstract: Techniques of reducing bezel size of liquid crystal display (LCD) devices are described. Techniques of the present subject matter allow reduction in the bezel size of an LCD device while maintaining the aspect ratio of pixels of an LCD panel. In an example, an LCD panel of the LCD device may include a plurality of sub-pixels arranged in a first direction and a second direction in a matrix arrangement, and a plurality of gate lines extending in the first direction and a plurality of source lines extending in the second direction. Further, The LCD panel may include a plurality of source lead-out lines extending in the first direction, wherein each of the plurality of source lead-out lines is electrically connected to at least one of the plurality of source lines.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: a first display panel displaying a color image, a second display panel that is disposed farther away from the observer with respect to the first display panel and displays a monochrome image, and an image processor that generates color image data and monochrome image data. The image processor includes an extension filtering unit that performs extension filtering on first monochrome image data, which is made monochrome using a maximum value in a value of each color expressing color information included in the input video signal. The extension filtering unit performs the extension filtering on the first monochrome image data using a large filter size in a larger luminance difference region, and performs the extension filtering on the first monochrome image data using a small filter size in a small luminance difference region.
