Negative active materials and rechargeable lithium batteries including the negative active materials are provided. The negative active material includes an intermetallic compound of Si and a metal, and a metal matrix including Cu and Al. The negative active material may provide a rechargeable lithium battery having high capacity and excellent cycle-life and cell efficiency.

Disclosed is a mobile communication terminal having a light guide plate for indicating the receipt of a signal. This mobile communication terminal comprises an upper frame. A light guide plate is mounted in the upper frame. The light guide plate has an opening corresponding to a region of an image display window. In addition, at least one LED is arranged adjacent to the light guide plate so as to introduce light into the light guide plate. Since the light guide plate is used for indicating the receipt of a signal, it is possible to provide a mobile communication terminal allowing a user to easily recognize a state where a signal has been received.

Provided are a thin film transistor and an organic electrolumienscent display including the same. The organic electroluminescent display includes: a gate electrode; source and drain electrodes that are insulated from the gate electrode; an organic semiconductor layer that is insulated from the gate electrode and electrically connected to the source and drain electrodes; an insulating layer that insulates the gate electrode from the source and drain electrodes or the organic semiconductor layer; and an electron withdrawing layer composed of a Lewis acid compound formed between the source and drain electrodes and the organic semiconductor layer. Charges can easily accumulate so that a channel doping effect occurs in the semiconductor layer, thus preventing the formation of an energy barrier and increasing the number of carriers that are injected into a channel. As a result, a TFT having a low contact resistance, an large number of injected carriers, and good charge mobility can be obtained. A flat panel display including the TFT is reliable and has low power consumption.

An Apparatus and a method for interference cancellation in a wireless communication system are provided. When a resource of an Interference Cancellation (IC) zone is allocated to a terminal traveling in a service coverage, resource allocation information relating to an IC zone of neighbor cells is gathered. Resource allocation information is generated relating to the resource allocated to the terminal comprising resource allocation information of the IC zone of the neighbor cells. The resource allocation information relating to the resource allocated to the terminal is transmitted to the terminal. Accordingly, when the interference is present, the interference cancellation is carried out to reduce the load on the terminal and enhance the reception performance.

A method for transmitting a signal in a wireless communication system. The method comprises the steps of: grouping two subcarriers having different channel characteristics; identifying a number of all cases occurring when either equal symbols or different symbols, among symbols determined upon applying a first modulation scheme, are mapped to the two subcarriers; and mapping two subcarriers corresponding to each of the number of all cases to one symbol according to a second modulation scheme, and transmitting the signal, wherein a modulation order of the second modulation scheme is two times higher than a modulation order of the second modulation.

A case for a portable terminal using a color liquid crystal uses a Peltier device to vary the color of the case by means of electrical heating and cooling the interior of the case. The case includes a temperature control apparatus for emitting electrical heat, when an electrical current is applied thereto, and simultaneously cooling the opposite side; a liquid crystal application agent positioned on the upper portion of the temperature control apparatus and adapted to vary the color by means of the electrical heat; and a cooling unit positioned opposite to an upper portion of the temperature control apparatus to cool heat-generating devices inside the terminal.

An organic thin film transistor (TFT) that allows an organic semiconductor layer to be easily patterned includes a gate electrode, source and drain electrodes insulated from the gate electrode, a self-assembly monolayer formed on the source and drain electrodes, an organic semiconductor layer which is insulated from the gate electrode and covers at least a portion of the self-assembly monolayer. A flat panel display apparatus includes the organic TFT. A method of manufacturing an organic TFT includes forming source and drain electrodes on a substrate; forming a self-assembly monolayer covering at least the source and drain electrodes; patterning the self-assembly monolayer to remove portions of the self-assembly monolayer that are not located on the source and drain electrodes; and forming an organic semiconductor layer by inkjet printing an organic semiconductor material between the source and drain electrodes.

An image sensor capable of improving the performance of a transistor of a peripheral circuit region while maintaining high picture quality, and a method of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The image sensor may include a semiconductor substrate having an active pixel region and a peripheral circuit region, a first gate pattern formed on the semiconductor substrate in the active pixel region, and a second gate pattern formed on the semiconductor substrate in the peripheral circuit region and made of a second material layer. The second gate pattern may also include the first material layer.

A printing control apparatus and a method of controlling the same include an operating system part, a memory part, a communication interface part to receive a printer driver file from an external device, and a null driver part having an interface to receive and transmit a command and data from and to the operating system part, to receive the printer driver file from the external device, and to load the printer driver file in the memory part to configure a printer driver to drive the printing device. Since the printing control apparatus includes the null driver part to receive and transmit the command and data to control the operating system part and the printing device, it is possible to configure the printer driver of the printing device in the printing control apparatus without requiring a separate process of installing the printer driver.

A thin film transistor having a transformed region that provides the same result as patterning a semiconductor layer, a flat panel display having the thin film transistor and a method for manufacturing the thin film transistor and the flat panel display are disclosed. The thin film structure includes a gate electrode, a source and a drain electrode, each insulated from the gate electrode and an organic semiconductor layer coupled to the source electrode and the drain electrode. The organic semiconductor layer includes the transformed region having a crystal structure distinguished from crystal structures of regions around the channel region.
