    Abstract: The present invention provide a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic that, while having an excellent hair-styling effect, also exhibits a strong ability to moisturize the coated tissue, provides a smooth finger manipulation sense unlike that of a cream or wax, and does not produce stickiness on the hands and hair. The water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic is characterized by containing (A) a crosslinked siloxane elastomer, (B) a solid oil component, (C) a liquid oil component, and (D) at least 55 mass % water, wherein the ratio of component (B) to component (C) ((B)/(C)) is 0.25 to 1.5.

    Abstract: A device of an embodiment includes: an optical mechanism that guides light from a light source to skin tissue to scan the skin tissue; a control computation unit that controls driving of the optical mechanism, acquires tomographic images of the skin by processing optical interference signals from the optical system, and calculates a network of blood vessels on the basis of the tomographic images; and a display device that displays the network of blood vessels. The control computation unit computes autocorrelation values at coordinates in epidermis corresponding regions of the tomographic images, excludes combinations of tomographic images with the computed autocorrelation values corresponding to predetermined low autocorrelation, computes autocorrelation values at coordinates in dermis corresponding regions, determines coordinates at which the autocorrelation values in the dermis corresponding regions are within a predetermined low correlation range to be blood vessels or blood vessel candidates, and calculates a network of blood vessels.

    Abstract: A titanium dioxide powder has excellent red light-selective transmission function while maintaining hiding power. A cosmetic formulated therewith provides a natural finish and makes skin irregularities (pores) inconspicuous while having good covering properties. A titanium dioxide powder is obtained by firing titanium dioxide having acicular projections on the particle surface at 500-800° C. The titanium dioxide powder for the cosmetic is characterized by an apparent average particle size is 100-500 nm, an average crystallite size measured by X-ray diffraction is 15-30 nm, and a specific surface area is 10-30 m2/g.
