Abstract: A hybrid sensing apparatus for collecting data inside a well, the apparatus including an optical cable that acquires a first set of data; and an array of discrete probes connected to each other with an electrical cable. The discrete probes are configured to acquire a second set of data. The apparatus further includes an attachment system attached to the discrete probes and configured to hold the optical cable. The attachment system is configured to expose the optical cable to directly contact the well.

Abstract: A marine seismic streamer includes plural concentrators, plural segments interposed with the plural concentrators so that a concentrator of the plural concentrators is sandwiched between two segments of the plural segments, a first high-voltage rail HV1 that extends along the plural concentrators and the plural segments, and a second high-voltage rail HV2 that extends along the plural concentrators and the plural segments. In each given concentrator i of the plural concentrators, there is a first switch SW1 placed along one of the first high-voltage rail HV1 and the second high-voltage rail HV2, a second switch SW2 placed between the first high-voltage rail HV1 and the second high-voltage rail HV2, a first local controller implemented in hardware, and a second local controller implemented in a combination of hardware and software, and having an operating system, the first local controller being separated from the second local controller.

Abstract: In order to monitor the subsoil of the earth under a target zone, seismic waves coming from an identified mobile noise source are recorded by means of at least one pair of sensors disposed on either side of the target zone, time periods are selected corresponding to the alignments of the pairs of sensors with the noise source, a seismogram of the target zone is reconstructed by interferometry based on the recorded seismic waves and on the selected time periods and an image of the subsoil of the target zone is generated using the seismogram.

Abstract: A method for configuring a multi-source and a hexa-source for acquiring first and second seismic datasets of a subsurface. The method includes selecting a number n of source arrays to create the multi-source; selecting a number m of sub-arrays for each source array, each sub-array having a plurality of source elements; imposing a distance D between any two adjacent source arrays of the multi-source; calculating a distance d between any two adjacent sub-arrays of a same source array so that bins associated with the first and second seismic datasets are interleaved; selecting source elements from at least six different sub-arrays of the n source arrays to create the hexa-source; and firing the multi-source to acquire the first dataset, and firing the hexa-source to acquire the second dataset.
