摘要： An input operation system for use in a vehicle has a protruding marking on a surface of a touch panel, and displays a composite image generated by superposing an outline of user's finger on a switch operation screen. The composite image of the switch operation screen is backed by an image of the protruding marking on the surface of the touch panel, and the user's finger receives a tactile feedback from the protruding marking on the surface of the touch panel to cause sensations of an intuitive positioning in the switch operation screen for controlling a menu item that is displayed on a display unit for an input operation of vehicular devices.

摘要： A side airbag apparatus includes an inflator and an airbag. The airbag that is deployed and inflated in a space between a body side portion of a vehicle and an occupant seated on a front seat in a passenger compartment by the pressure of gas injected from the inflator. The apparatus also includes a pair of hook devices and tethers. The hook devices are located at the rear end in the airbag. Each tether extends in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle and has an end hooked to one of the hook devices and an end fixed to the front inner end of the airbag. The tethers suppress the expansion of the airbag in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, thereby promoting the expansion of the airbag in the lateral direction of the vehicle. Further, the apparatus includes an occupant size detector for detecting the size of the occupant. When the size of the occupant detected by the occupant size detector is equal to or smaller than a reference size that is determined in advance, the hook devices release the tethers.

Since the user can decide whether or not to register the FAX image in the database after checking the image to be registered, registration of undesired image in the database can be prevented.

摘要： A pedestrian airbag system according to the present invention is mounted to a rear portion of a sheet metal hood panel of a vehicle. The airbag system includes an airbag inflated so as to cover an area from the rear portion of the hood panel to a front side of a front pillar by being supplied with inflation gas; a case for accommodating the airbag, and an airbag cover formed of synthetic resin and which covers the upper side of the folded airbag so as to allow projection of the airbag when inflated. The air bag cover is disposed at the rear portion of the hood panel so that the upper surface of the airbag cover is continuous with the upper surface of the hood panel on the front portion, elongated in the direction of the width of the hood panel, and mounted to the hood panel so as to be capable of moving in the direction of the width of the hood panel. According to the pedestrian airbag system of the invention, deterioration of the appearance of the airbag cover due to thermal expansion can be prevented.
