摘要： A demodulator, suitable for use in a communication system and in a modem, has a block polyphase circuit with circuit blocks for different signal processing functions, particularly filtering, delay, and frequency conversion. The circuit blocks are arranged for parallel processing of different portions of an input sequence of signals. Signals of the input sequence to be filtered are divided among the blocks by a demultiplexer for processing at a clock frequency lower than a clock frequency of the input signal sequence. Signals outputted by groups of the circuit blocks are summed to produce an output signal of the group. Frequency and timing reference signals, as well as fractional delay interpolation, are produced also by parallel-channel circuitry. Output signals of all of the groups are multiplexed to provide an output signal sequence such that the repetition frequency of the outputted signals may be higher, lower, or equal to that of the input signal sequence. This enables use of programmable circuitry operative at clock rates lower than rates required to process directly the input signal sequence.

One or more properties of the marking are ascertained to provide a measured profile. The measured profile is compared to at least one member of a closed set of reference profiles. At least one reference profile is characteristic of an indicator material in a nanocrystalline morphology and non-characteristic of the same indicator material in a bulk morphology.

摘要： A compact external fixation device for the treatment of bone fractures of reduced dimensions and of children comprises a pair of clamps (2, 3) for bone screws (V) connected by respective spherical joints (5, 6) and a central body (4) formed by at least one male element (7) and one female element (8) which are telescopically coupled. In a preferred embodiment, one element (7) is made of a material of high radiotransparency and the other element (8) is made of a substantially radiopaque rigid material with walls of such minimum thickness as to be at least partially radiotransparent. Antirotation means are provided between the male telescopic element (7) and the female telescopic element (8); transverse eccentric pins (34, 35) contained in each clamp act on respective slides (28, 29) for locking the ball (24, 25) of each joint. The fixation device permits complete radioscopy of the fracture even through the central body; the device is light in weight and of small dimensions, due to the provision of the means for locking the joints within the clamps.
