摘要: A method of improving the efficiency of a diesel engine provided with a source of diesel fuel includes the steps of: a) adding to the diesel fuel a reverse-micellar composition having an aqueous first disperse phase that includes a free radical initiator and a first continuous phase that includes a first hydrocarbon liquid, a first surfactant, and optionally a co-surfactant, thereby producing a modified diesel fuel, and b) operating the engine, thereby combusting the modified diesel fuel. The efficiency of a diesel engine provided with a source of diesel fuel and a source of lubricating oil can also be improved by modifying the lubricating oil by the addition of a stabilized nanoparticulate composition of cerium dioxide. The efficiency of a diesel engine can also be improved by adding to the diesel fuel a reverse-micellar composition that includes an aqueous disperse phase containing boric acid or a borate salt.

The collapsible extensions are configured to lock into a perpendicular position from the horizontal supports. The tray also includes a plurality of hinged connectors. The hinged connectors connect the inner and outer horizontal supports with the collapsible extensions. Additionally, the apparatus includes a vertical support. The vertical support is connected to the tray assembly by a tray clutch assembly. The tray apparatus may be attached to a chair.

摘要: A method, system and applicator for the solvent-less delivery of a bio-active material to a receiver. The applicator includes a discharge device, a reservoir which holds a bioactive material, and a solvent at a supercritical fluid state for delivering the bioactive material through the discharge device to the receiver. A spacer may be positioned between the discharge device and the receiver. The receiver may have a plurality of different bio-active material to be applied to a subject, each located at a different location on the receiver.

摘要: A cassette for providing power source for use with a portable electronic device. The cassette comprises a retaining member for holding a power source, such as one or more batteries. The retaining member includes one or more latching members, such as a pair of resilient fingers protruding from one end operable with a cover having a latching mechanism. When the retaining member is matably engaged with the cover, the fingers engage one or more second latching members. When one or more latches are actuated (e.g. contemporaneously), the fingers disengage the one or more second latching members. After disengagement the retaining member may be removed from the cover the batteries may be installed, removed, or replaced.

A method of making a cerium-containing fuel additive includes the steps of: a) providing a mixture of a nonpolar solvent, a surfactant, and a co-surfactant; and b) combining the mixture with an aqueous suspension of stabilized cerium dioxide nanoparticles.

摘要: The invention is directed towards constructs for RNAi techniques. The invention provides a ribonucleic acid (RNA) for use as interfering RNA in gene silencing techniques to silence a target gene comprising in a 5′ to 3′ direction at least a first effector sequence, a second effector sequence, a sequence substantially complementary to the second effector sequence and a sequence substantially complementary to the first effector sequence, wherein the complementary sequences are capable of forming double stranded regions with their respective effector sequences and wherein at least one of these sequences is substantially identical to the predicted transcript of a region of the target gene, and a nucleic acid construct encoding such an RNA.
