    摘要: A liquid developer for electrostatic photography comprising a resin dispersed in a non-aqueous solvent having an electric resistance of at least 10.sup.9 .OMEGA.cm and a dielectric constant of not higher than 3.5, wherein the dispersed resin is a polymer resin obtained by polymerizing a solution containing at least one monofunctional monomer (A) which is soluble in the aforesaid non-aqueous solvent but become insoluble after being polymerized, in the presence of a dispersion-stabilizing resin which is soluble in the aforesaid non-aqueous solvent and at least one oligomer (B) having a number average molecular weight of not more than 1.times.10.sup.4 and having at least one polar group selected from a carboxy group, a sulfo group, a hydroxy group, a formyl group, an amino group, a phosphono group, and ##STR1## wherein R.sup.0 represents a hydrocarbon group or --OR.sup.1, (wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrocarbon group) bonded to only one terminal of the main chain of a polymer composed of a recurring unit represented by following formula (II): ##STR2## wherein V.sup.1, R.sup.2, a.sup.1 and a.sup.2 are as defined in the specification. The liquid developer is excellent in dispersion stability, re-dispersibility, and fixability, and also is capable of forming an offset printing plate having excellent ink-receptivitiy for printing ink and excellent printing durability by electrophotography.

    摘要: An ink jet printing method which comprises: directly forming an image on a printing medium on the basis of signals of image data; and fixing the image to produce a printed matter, wherein said image formation is carried out by an ink jet system of ejecting an oily ink by an electrostatic field. The method preferably further comprises cleaning an ink jet head, said cleaning step comprising: immersing said ink jet head in a cleaning solution; and applying voltage to said ink jet head. Alternatively, the method preferably further comprises, when a malfunction happens, either or both of stopping the image formation and eliminating a cause of the malfunction. Also disclosed are printing apparatuses suitably used for these methods.

    摘要: An oil-based ink for a printing plate by an ink jet process comprising spraying an oil-based ink comprising at least resin particles dispersed in a nonaqueous carrier liquid having an electric resistance of 10.sup.9 .OMEGA.cm or more and a dielectric constant of 3.5 or less on an image receiving layer of a lithographic printing plate precursor dropwise from a nozzle to form an image, and then desensitizing a non-image area of the image receiving layer by a chemical reaction to prepare a lithographic printing plate, the image receiving layer being formed on a water-resistant support and comprising zinc oxide and a binding resin; and a surface of the image receiving layer having a contact angle with water of 50.degree. or more, wherein the resin particles dispersed are polymer particles obtained by polymerization granulation of a solution comprising (i), (ii) and (iii): (i) at least one monofunctional monomer (A) which is soluble in a nonaqueous solvent which is at least miscible with the nonaqueous carrier liquid and becomes insoluble therein by polymerization; (ii) (ii-a) at least one monomer which is copolymerizable with the monomer (A), or (ii-b) at least one monofunctional macromonomer (MA) having a weight average molecular weight of 2.times.10.sup.4 or less in which a polymerizable double bond group is combined with only one end of a main chain of a polymer comprising a repeating unit corresponding to a monomer; and (iii) at least one dispersion-stabilizing resin which is soluble in the nonaqueous solvent and has no graft group polymerizing with a monomer.
