Abstract: An inlet bleed heat (IBH) system for use in a turbine engine including a silencer assembly. The inlet bleed heat (IBH) system includes a feed pipe for delivering compressor discharge air. The feed pipe includes a plurality of orifices along at least a portion of a length of the feed pipe, and each orifice of the plurality of orifices extends through a wall of the feed pipe for allowing the compressor discharge air to exit the feed pipe. The system also includes a heat shielding component that extends across the feed pipe, wherein the heat shielding component is configured to reduce heat transfer between the feed pipe and the silencer assembly of the turbine engine.

Abstract: A system includes an inlet duct disposed about an inlet axis, wherein the inlet duct is configured to direct an airflow along the inlet axis to a compressor inlet. The inlet includes an inlet heating system and a heating portion having a longitudinal axis that is substantially perpendicular to the inlet axis. The inlet heating system includes a first conduit substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis that is configured to distribute a heated fluid directly to the airflow via a first set of openings of a first end zone of the first conduit and a second set of openings of a second zone of the first conduit. The first end zone is configured to receive the heated fluid from a heating source, the second zone is coupled to the first end zone, and the second zone is configured to receive the heated fluid from the first end zone.

Abstract: An exhaust processing system that includes: an exhaust passageway for directing exhaust gases, the exhaust passageway having passageway walls that define and enclose the exhaust passageway between an upstream position and a downstream position; and an acoustic liner formed against and covering at least one of the passageway walls of the exhaust passageway. The acoustic liner may include uniformly configured modular acoustic blocks fitted against each other. The modular acoustic blocks each may include interior cavities having different lengths configured to dampen targeted sound frequencies.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a turbine system includes a compressor, an intake section including a filter house and an inlet duct. The intake section is coupled to the compressor, and the filter house is upstream from the inlet duct. The turbine system also includes one or more sensors disposed in the intake section, and a processor configured to receive sensor data from the one or more sensors, one or more filter degradation rates for one or more filtration stages of the filter house, or some combination thereof, predict a compressor degradation rate for the compressor using a compressor degradation prediction model that provides a function of performance of the compressor based on the sensor data, the one or more filter degradation rates, or some combination thereof, and perform one or more preventative actions based on the compressor degradation rate prediction.

Abstract: Systems and methods include actuation system of turbomachinery that include an actuator configured to control pitch of vanes of the turbomachinery and a positioner configured to position the actuator to control the pitch. The actuation system also includes a controller system communicably coupled to the positioner. The controller system is configured to drive the positioner based at least in part on a set point of the turbomachinery and obtain data from the positioner indicating an amount of force used for a target pitch. Using the data, the controlling system derives an operating condition for the turbomachinery and controls the turbomachinery based at least in part on the operating condition of the turbomachinery.

Abstract: A steam cycle system includes a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) which receives exhaust gases, a steam turbine coupled to the HRSG which receives a first steam flow generated by the HRSG, and a condenser which condenses a second steam flow output by the steam turbine. The condenser includes a plurality of heat exchanger tubes, a fan, and a steam collection header. The system includes one or more sensors which measure one or more properties of the steam flow. The system includes a closed-loop controller communicatively coupled to the one or more sensors. The controller receives data from the one or more sensors, determines a flow rate of the second steam flow through the steam header using the one or more sensors, calculates whether the flow rate of the steam is within a threshold, and adjusts one or more operating parameters of the fan.
