Abstract:
A system and method for selecting a collaboration participant comprising: defining a role wherein the role includes a plurality potential members and one or more criteria; evaluating the role to determine a set of actual members wherein the set of actual members can vary over time; selecting a first member of the set of actual members; inviting the first member to join a collaboration; wherein the one or more criteria is based at least partially on presence information of the first member; and wherein the first member is a client process.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing presence information, said method comprising, defining a role that defines a dynamic set of users wherein the set of users can vary over time and wherein the role is based on presence information of at least one member of the set of users; subscribing to the role by a subscriber wherein the subscriber will receive notification of a change to the dynamic set of users; and wherein the step of subscribing includes obtaining permission to subscribe from at least one member of the set of users.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing a collaboration, comprising, communicating with a first process, wherein the first process is a collaboration process; communicating with a second process, wherein the second process is capable of assembling a first web page in a plurality of web pages and capable of dynamically controlling navigation across the plurality of web pages; rendering the first web page; and wherein the communicating with the first process occurs independent of the communicating with the second process.
Abstract:
A system and method for establishing a collaboration, comprising evaluating a role to dynamically determine a set of potential participants; selecting a first participant from the set of potential participants; inviting the first participant to join the collaboration; receiving an answer to the inviting; and including the first participant in the collaboration if the answer indicates a desire to join the collaboration.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for controlling flare in roll-forming processes are disclosed. An example flare control system determines a first location of a formed component associated with a roll-forming process and adjusts a roller to a first position in response to determining the first location of the formed component. Adjusting the roller to the first position causes the roller to contact a surface of the formed component. The example flare control system then moves the roller from the first position to a second position. The second position is associated with a second location of the formed component. The first position and the second position are associated with controlling the flare in the formed component.
Abstract:
An improved data modem (IDM) and method includes a communication processor module, a mass storage module, a power converter module, and one or more DSP modules. The communication processor module utilizes commercial off-the-shelf components as well as electrically programmable logic devices (EPLD), which are programmed to provide a watchdog timer, programmable interrupt controller, flash page addressing, ISA bus decoder and controller, and various circuits and logic.
Abstract:
Interactive rule changes made during a run time are applied to a computer-aided design model. An in-memory model is produced from a set of rules, and instructions are generated for a computer-aided design system based on the in-memory model. The in-memory model is updated based on interactive rule changes. The set of rules may be stored in a database, and the set of rules in the database may be selectively updated based on the interactive rule changes. Class files may be generated based on the set of rules, and the class files may be selectively updated based on the interactive rules changes.
Abstract:
A power supply generates alternating current and direct current from a constant-voltage source. A multi-phase pulse width modulation voltage source inverter is connected across the source to output multi-phase alternating current. At least one waveform generator is bridged in parallel with the inverter, with each waveform generator outputting zero-sequence waveform current compensated to maintain the multi-phase current within a predetermined tolerance from a desired set point. A rectifier receives the waveform current and generates direct current.
Abstract:
An approach for automatically determining database tables that are best suited for index tuning involves analyzing query performance data that specifies an average amount of time required to execute a plurality of queries on the database tables. One or more particular queries are selected from the plurality of queries based upon the query performance data. Data tables required to process the one or more particular queries are selected for index tuning.
Abstract:
An apparatus for and a process of evaluating well bore flow of water and for sampling of water within a well. A hose is inserted into the well to a known depth. To evaluate the water, a tracer fluid is introduced into the hose until the pressure within the hose exceeds the hydrostatic pressure at the known depth by a preset amount. The tracer fluid is then rapidly released into the well. The tracer fluid is detected in water pumped from the well, and the elapsed time between release of the tracer fluid into the well and detection of the tracer fluid in the water pumped from the well is determined. The process is repeated at a second known depth, and the tracer fluid travel time between the two depths is determined. From this and the cross-sectional area of the well, the incremental volumetric well bore inflow to the well between the two depths is calculated. The process can be repeated at several depths within the well to permit construction of a velocity profile of water movement within the well. To obtain a water sample from the well, the hose is inserted to the desired depth, and an inert gas is introduced into the hose. The gas is then vented from the hose, and water from the well enters the hose to replace the vented gas. The hose is then withdrawn from the well, and gas is again introduced into the hose, causing the water sample to be discharged. Appropriate valves are provided to control the apparatus.
