Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a method for authenticating an access point. In the method, a request for joining a network is received from an access point. A neighbor authentication notification is transmitted to the access point for obtaining an authentication code from a neighbor access point that is connected in the network in accordance with a determination that the access point is verified. The authentication code that is generated by the neighbor access point is received from the access point. The access point is accepted to join the network in accordance with a determination that the authentication code is valid. Embodiments of the present disclosure present a safe and effective way for authenticating the access point that is requesting to join the network, which provides enhanced authentication and increases the security level of the network.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for prioritizing channel access to uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) data capable active stations (STAs) by dynamically adapting a MU enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameter set to provide for increased access to the channel by the UL MU data capable active STAs when the total number of active STAs associated to the AP less the number of active UL MU capable STAs exceeds the number of active UL MU data capable STAs; and by dynamically adapting the MU EDCA parameter set to equal a legacy EDCA parameter set to reduce collisions between the UL MU data capable STAs when the number of active UL MU data capable STAs exceeds or equals the total number of active STAs associated to the AP less the number of active UL MU data capable STAs.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using multiple MBSSIDs associated with groups of VAPs for an AP. The groups of VAPs can be determined for an AP based on various characteristics that separate one group of VAPs from another group of VAPs. Each group of VAPs can be associated with an MBSSID based on the BSSIDs of the VAPs in the group of VAPs. The AP can broadcast the MBSSIDs of each group of VAPs instead of broadcasting an MBSSID for all VAPs associated with the AP.

Abstract: Some examples relate to use of a three-address scheme for forwarding frames in a wireless mesh network (WMN). In an example, a node in a WMN may receive an Ethernet packet from a station outside of the WMN. The Ethernet packet may include a first address scheme comprising a destination address (DA) field, and a source address (SA) of the Ethernet packet. The Ethernet packet may be encapsulated in a second Ethernet packet comprising second address scheme. The second Ethernet packet may be encapsulated in an IEEE 802.11 frame comprising a third address scheme.

Abstract: An example wireless device, comprising: a radio system including an antenna, to receive receiver feedback information, the receiver feedback information being information collected by a receiver relating to receiving status of the receiver; a memory; and a processor executing instructions stored on the memory to: determine whether a level of noises and interferences associated with the receiver exceeds a predefined threshold based on the receiver feedback information; in response to determining that the level of noises and interferences associated with the receiver does not exceed the predefined threshold, obtain a revised data error ratio based on an original data error ratio and the receiver feedback information, the original data error ratio being a data error ratio collected by the wireless device; and adjust the data rate associated with the receiver based on the revised data error ratio.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a fast path for acknowledgement frames in wireless networks. An embodiment of a storage medium includes instructions for operations including receiving frames at a network device via a wireless communication channel, each frame including a sequence number; holding the received frames in a reorder buffer to be reordered according to the sequence numbers of the received frames, wherein a frame is to be removed from the reorder buffer for delivery to a next process upon the sequence number of the frame equaling an expected next sequence number or upon expiration of a reordering timeout period for the frame; and, upon receiving an acknowledgment (ACK) frame, the ACK frame containing no data and having a sequence number that is later than any ACK frame that has been previously processed at the network device bypassing the reorder buffer for the ACK frame, and delivering the ACK frame to the next process, and maintaining an order position for the ACK frame in the reorder buffer until the reordering timeout period expires for the ACK frame.

Abstract: Techniques and systems perform link aggregation and fault tolerance across a wireless link connecting two wired networks. In a first example, a wireless networking device includes first radio and a second radio communicatively coupled to a wired network communication interface. The first and second radios have different operational parameters for bandwidth of transmission and other factors. The wireless networking device may include a processing device to cause the wireless networking device to establish a single data communication channel via the first radio; determine throughput of communication has been affected by an impact condition causing communication via the first radio to be impacted negatively and the second radio impacted positively. Based on that determination the single data communication channel may be transitioned to be received via the second radio. Each radio may maintain an active/backup status or perform load balancing to provide transmission of the single data communication channel.
