    摘要: A method and apparatus for determining whether attach procedures between a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a network should proceed based on whether the internet protocol (IP) version, (i.e., packet data protocol (PDP) type), of the WTRU is compatible with the network. In one embodiment, the WTRU receives a network compatibility message from the network which indicates the network's IP version. If the network's IP version is determined by the WTRU to be compatible, the WTRU and the network proceed with the attach procedures. In another embodiment, the network receives an attach request message from the WTRU which indicates the IP version of the WTRU. If the IP version of the WTRU is determined by the network to be compatible, the network and the WTRU proceed with the attach procedures. For both embodiments, another network is selected if the IP versions of the WTRU and the network are not compatible.

    摘要: A method for delivering a short message service (SMS) message to an interworking wireless local area network user equipment (UE) begins by registering the UE with an Internet Protocol short message gateway (IP-SM-GW). A capability report is sent from the UE to the IP-SM-GW, the capability report including the capabilities of the UE. A SMS message is transmitted from a short message service center (SMSC) to the IP-SM-GW. The capabilities of the UE are evaluated at the IP-SM-GW to determine whether the UE can receive the SMS message, and the SMS message is delivered to the UE via the IP-SM-GW if the UE has the capabilities to receive the SMS message.

A request to establish communications is received at a first Protection Against Unsolicited Communications in Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (PUC) server. Alternatively, the communication may be delivered to a subsequent PUC server (along with appended information about the sender), the receiver or sent to storage.

    摘要: The present invention is related to a method of activating multiple bearer services in a long term evolution (LTE) wireless communication system including multiple bearers. At least one of the multiple bearers is activated during initial attach procedures which combine an attach procedure with activate packet data protocol (PDP) context activation procedures. In one embodiment, LTE attach procedures are implemented for multi-bearer services activation that establishes an LTE direct general packet radio service (GPRS) tunneling protocol (GTP) tunnel or normal GTP two-tunnels operation. In another embodiment, the initial attach procedures are used to activate a default PDP context to be followed by modified PDP context activation procedures for multi-bearer services activation. These procedures can be used to establish a modified LTE direct GTP tunnel or a normal GTP two-tunnels operation.

    摘要: The present invention provides a new communication mechanism between the UE and the GGSN pertaining to Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) signaling, and coordinates and assigns responsibility for RSVP messaging. This ensures proper RSVP messaging, prevents unnecessary consumption of radio resources and reduces chances of collisions within the network. Also, the invention prevents the possibility that neither the UE nor GGSN respond appropriately to the RSVP requirements by halting transmission of any RSVP path/refreshment messages to the IP network in order to refresh/maintain the reservation states due to lack of clear assignment of responsibility. This lack of clear understanding between the UE and the GGSN may result in the expiration of the IP network resource reservations made earlier for media streams.
