摘要： A subsystem architecture is described that provides support services for software applications of a system. The subsystem architecture includes local infrastructure components, which provide infrastructure services to the software applications. Each local infrastructure component corresponds to a single software application and is independent from another of the local infrastructure components. The subsystem architecture may further include a central service component providing central services to at least one of the local infrastructure components. The central service component is independent and unaware of the local infrastructure components. Still further, the subsystem architecture may include an administrative component for monitoring and maintaining the local infrastructure components providing infrastructure services to the software applications. The administrative component is independent and unaware of the plurality of local infrastructure components.

摘要： A system, method, and program support a flexible framework for providing communications between the layers of a software application. A processing unit is operable to execute a communications API (Applications Program Interface), the communications API virtually or effectively interconnecting presentation logic and business logic associated with a software application. The communications API transparently and interchangeably executes desktop implementation of the software application and a network implementation of the software application. The desktop implementation, the network implementation, and any switching between implementation modes may be transparent to the presentation logic and/or the business logic. The software application may be an n-layer application, and the communications API may arrange the order of the n-layers based upon whether desktop or network implementation is to be employed. The presentation logic and business logic may be associated with different machines located at a distance.

In one example, the method includes receiving a data record at a local data repository, wherein the data record contains a dose information image and a scanner index.
