The projector includes a cooling apparatus 11 disposed in a main body 1 and functioning as the cooling unit; a sealed or substantially sealed duct 30 through which cold air cooled by a cooler 18 of the cooling apparatus 11 is circulated and supplied to an optical element group 5 to cool the optical element group; an outside air introduction port 32 and an air discharge port 33 which function as a ventilation unit for introducing outside air into this duct 30 to discharge the air from the duct 30, dampers 34 and 35 for opening and closing these ports; and a controller C functioning as a control unit for controlling the dampers 34 and 35 to execute a ventilating operation in the duct 30.

    摘要: An operation unit switches the operating mode between a 3D display output mode in which the images of the 3D image file are displayed as a stereoscopic images and a 2D display output mode in which one of the images of the 3D image file is displayed as an ordinary planar image. The 3D image file is composed of stereoscopic image data which represents a plurality of monocular images constituting a multi-ocular stereoscopic image and information which is added to the stereoscopic image data and which indicates that the data is stereoscopic data. In the 2D display output mode, a control unit makes an output unit display an image of the 3D image file read from a medium by a media reader and also display a mark on the same screen, indicating that the image displayed in the 2D display output mode is based on the 3D image file.

    摘要: A 3D image processing apparatus first generates a combined view volume that contains view volumes set respectively by a plurality of real cameras, based on a single temporary camera placed in a virtual 3D space. Then, this apparatus performs skewing transformation on the combined view volume so as to acquire view volumes for each of the plurality of real cameras. Finally, two view volumes acquired for the each of the plurality of real cameras are projected on a projection plane so as to produce 2D images having parallax. Using the temporary camera alone, the 2D images serving as base points for a parallax image can be produced by acquiring the view volumes for the each of the plurality of real cameras. As a result, a processing for actually placing the real cameras can be skipped, so that a high-speed processing as a whole can be realized.

    摘要: An image display device displays a plurality of image elements of a left-view image and a plurality of image elements of a right-view image on a display in alternation in a horizontal direction, and displays an image element of a black image between each adjacent pairing of an image element of the left-view image and an image element of the right-view image. The image display device uses a parallax barrier to ensure that a left eye of a viewer only views the left-view image and that a right eye of the viewer only views the right-view image. Through the above configuration the image display device reduces occurrence of cross-talk regardless of position of the viewer or shape of the parallax barrier, and improves image quality of a stereoscopic image.

Padding areas (dummy areas) are added to the original stereoscopic combined image data at the upper and lower sides thereof.
