摘要： A magnetic tape cartridge comprises: a single reel 3 around which a magnetic tape is wound; and a cartridge case 2 for accommodating the reel 3 rotatably, the cartridge case 2 including a lower case 60, at the center of the bottom portion of which an opening 2c for driving the reel is formed for exposing the engaging means for driving the reel, the engaging means for driving the reel being formed on an outer surface of the bottom portion of a reel hub, the cartridge case also including an upper case 2a attached to an upper portion of the lower case 60. A crimped surface 62 for reducing a frictional resistance is formed on a side wall 61 of the lower case 60 which slidably comes into contact with a cartridge guide member of a recording and playback device when the magnetic tape cartridge is attached to and detached from a deck. Thereby, it is possible to provide a magnetic tape cartridge that can be smoothly attached to and detached from a deck of a recording and playback device.

摘要： A mis-insertion preventive rib 15 which will fit in the front opening that is formed in the magnetic tape cassette is provided at the storage part 3 which constitutes the magnetic tape cassette storage case 1 and, to facilitate visual and palpable recognition, the height H1 of the lateral wall part 13 which is formed at the outer circumferential part of the storage part 3 is designed so as to be smaller than the height H2 of the mis-insertion preventive rib 15 so as not to be supported between the lateral walls 13 but to protrude from the lateral wall part 13 when the magnetic tape cassette is inserted incorrectly. Therefore, at the time to store the magnetic tape cassette in the storage case, if the mis-insertion preventive rib does not fit in the front opening, the insertion in the incorrect direction can be checked visually by the entire magnetic cassette protruding from the lateral walls. Since the magnetic tape cassette which protrude from the lateral wall part is not supported between the lateral walls, the lid part is difficult to be closed even if tried and thus the incorrect mounting state is quickly recognized.

摘要： A tape reel having a cylindrical tape winding face on which magnetic tape is to be wound, and upper and lower flanges formed at upper and lower ends of said tape winding face. Grooves (20), which are designed to discharge to the outside the air interposed between portions of the magnetic tape that is wound on a tape winding face (8), are provided in the surface of the lower flange (9) which contacts the magnetic tape. The dimensions of each part are set so that the opening area of the grooves (20) lying within the tape winding range (21) where the magnetic tape is wound is 30 percent (standard value) or more relative to the total area of the tape winding range (21). By this structure, even in the case where the magnetic tape is wound at high speed on the tape winding face (8), the air interposed between portions of the magnetic tape is rapidly discharged to the outer periphery through the grooves (20), and the winding attitude is good.

摘要： A method of assembling a magnetic tape cassette, and a cassette are provided in which a magnetic shield plate and a plate spring having a pad attached thereto are incorporated very easily into upper and lower cassette halves and are free from chattering. The lower edge of the magnetic shield plate 20 fits into a groove, which is formed on a lower cassette half, and both ends of the plate spring 30 are dropped into receiving grooves at the front ends of projections formed on the lower cassette half. Thereafter, the upper cassette half, having ribs 26 and 36 which contact with the upper edges of the magnetic shield plate 20 and the plate spring 30, is placed on the lower cassette half, and the ribs are then melted by an ultrasonic welder. The magnetic shield plate and the plate spring are held by the molten resin.

摘要： A magnetic tape cassette storing case includes a cover member, and a casing member which is pivotally coupled to the cover member. Rotation preventing protrusions are so positioned that they are engaged with the hubs of a magnetic tape cassette whether the cassette is inserted in a first predetermined direction or in a second predetermined direction which is opposite to the first predetermined direction. Two pair of recesses for receiving the thicker portion of the cassette are formed in each of the major walls of the cover member and the casing member which, when the cassette is put in the storing case, cover the upper and lower surfaces of the cassette, in such a manner as to permit insertion of the cassette not only in the first predetermined direction but also in the second predetermined direction.

摘要： A method and apparatus for molding plastic articles in two colors, particularly, the bodies of magnetic tape cassettes, in which a strong bonding force is provided between the two portions without having to form a recess and projection on the joining edges of the two portions. A slide core, which is moved in and out of a primary mold cavity between the mold of the two portions of the article, is provided with a tubular passage having an opening within the primary mold cavity along edge portions of the slide core. The slide core is fully inserted into the primary mold cavity to mold the first portion, then partially withdrawn to form a seconary mold cavity in which the second portion is subsequently molded. After molding the first portion, an adhesive is injected through the tubular passage along the edges of the first portion which will join corresponding edges of the second portion to thereby firmly join the two portions.
