The proximity detector may comprise a near field communication (NFC) interface, a Bluetooth® transceiver or another short-range wireless technology that may be employed to detect the proximity of another device. This technology enables two devices to store a current location to facilitate a subsequent rendezvous back at that same location.

    摘要: A handheld electronic device having a slide-and-twist mechanism for changing between multiple device positions is provided. A slide-and-twist style form factor allows the device configuration and/or exposed input devices to be changed by the device user. The different device positions may support different operational modes or uses of the device by exposing different input devices. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a handheld electronic device, comprising: a first body having a first face and a second face; a second body having a first face and a second face, the first and second input devices being located on the first face of the second body; the first body being connected to the second body for sliding movement between a closed position and a first open position, wherein in the closed position the first body covers at least a portion of the second body, and wherein in the first open position the first input device is exposed on the first face of the second body; and wherein the second body is rotatable relative to the first body between the first open position and a second open position, wherein in the second open position the second input device is exposed on the first face of the second body.

    摘要: An activity screen or multitasking screen for a mobile device includes a plurality of tiles, each of which corresponds to a different multitasking application on the mobile device. Each of the tiles is allocated to a distinct region on the activity screen, according to a specified layout. The layout may vary according to the number of tiles allocated in the activity screen, and in some examples a region of the activity screen is automatically subdivided to provide additional regions. The content displayed for each tile is selected, at least in part, based on the size of the allocated region, and consequently, of the tile. Content for each possible size of the tile can be pre-defined. Each of the tiles operates as an application entry point for its corresponding application, thus providing a means of access for applications concurrently executing on the device.
