    摘要: An optical modulation device which can facilitate a reduction in size of a device and prevent overheating of the optical modulation device, and a projection display device utilizing the optical modulation device are provided. In the optical modulation device, sapphire glasses are affixed to the light-incident side and the light-emitting side surfaces of liquid crystal panels which respectively modulates light of three colors of red, green, and blue emitted from a light source according to image information. Therefore, heat generated on optical modulation devices can be discharged, so that overheating of the optical modulation devices can be prevented, and a reduction in size can be achieved. In addition, since the sapphire glass is difficult to scratch, it becomes easy-to-handle, thereby facilitating the management of the optical modulation devices.

    摘要: A liquid crystal panel unit is attached to a light incident surface of a prism composite. The liquid crystal panel unit includes a panel frame plate holding a liquid crystal panel, and a fixation frame plate glued and fixed to the light incident surface. The panel frame plate is fastened to the fixation frame plate by screws through an intermediate frame plate. By using wedges, the position of the panel frame plate with respect to the light incident surface is adjusted. This allows the liquid crystal panel to be reliably positioned and fixed so that the deviation amount in pixel matching is minimized and the focus adjustment can be accomplished correctly.

The projection display device is provided with a frame fixed to the light incident face of a prism composite, an intermediate frame detachably mounted to the fixed frame, a screw for fixing the fixed frame and the intermediate frame, a modulation element frame detachably mounted to the intermediate frame for holding a modulation element, a wedge for positioning the modulation element frame and the intermediate frame, and an adhesive layer for fixing the modulation element frame to the intermediate frame with the wedge therebetween. The intermediate frame is provided with a slit which facilitates elastic deformation of portions other than the fixed section for fixing the wedge.

    摘要: The internal space of the optical lens unit (9) of the projection display apparatus (1) 1 is made substantially airtight by means of the light guides (901, 902) defining the outside surface thereof, the top seal plate (991) mounted to the top thereof, the bottom seal plate (1150) mounted to the bottom thereof, and the front head panel (903) thereof. Inside this internal space an air circulation current (1180) circulating vertically is created by means of the circulation fan (15B) disposed between the liquid crystal light valves (925R, G, B) and bottom seal plate (1150). While this air circulation current (1180) flows over the bottom of the top seal plate (991), heat is dissipated to the outside air introduced to the top surface thereof, and while it passes the air paths (1160, 1170) routed through the vent hole in head panel (903) over the radiators (5R and 5L) formed in the front case, heat is dissipated to the outside. The internal components are efficiently cooled by means of the sufficiently cooled air circulation current (1180). Because this is also a circulating air current, dust, etc., does not penetrate inside the apparatus.

Because these large units 9 and 7 are vertically stacked, the front-back and right-left dimensions (i.e. length and width) of the overall apparatus can be reduced. An apparatus 1 that is easily portable and does not require a large installation space can therefore be achieved. Because the heavy power supply unit 7 is on the bottom, apparatus 1 is also stable when placed on a table, etc.

The analog display covers the face of the timepiece and the electronic display overlays the analog display. An analog movement is positioned between a stiff metal reinforcement and a spacer member. Circuit means are provided on a stiff substrate and a thin film substrate laid on said stiffer substrate. The spacer member allows for positioning of discrete electrical and mechanical components between the reinforcement and substrates. A circuit holder member supports the substrates and connects with the reinforcement. A portion of the analog movement extends through an aperture provided in the electrical substrate.
