Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to update beam configurations for specific component carriers or all component carriers in a component carrier group. The UE may receive a signaling message. The UE may apply an update to a beam configuration based at least in part on the signaling message. The UE may receive an indication of a set of component carriers and apply an update to the set of component carriers. The UE may update multiple beam configurations based at least in part on a selected configuration from the multiple beam configurations.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) may include receiving a message requesting estimated channel characteristics of a secondary band based on measuring characteristics of a channel in the primary band. The method also includes measuring characteristics of the channel in the primary band. The method estimates channel characteristics of the secondary band based on the primary band characteristics measurements. The estimating may occur without measuring signals in the secondary band. Further, the method may report the estimated channel characteristics of the secondary band and receive an indication of a secondary cell group, based on the estimated channel characteristics of the secondary band.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit compressed interference information to a network entity. The UE may measure interference at the UE over a set of interference measurement resources. The UE may determine an interference distribution over the set of resources. The UE may encode the interference distribution using a compressions scheme which may reduce a payload or size of the interference distribution. The compression scheme may include compressing the distribution of the interference. Encoding the interference information may include generating a mean vector and a covariance matrix representative of the distribution of the interference measured over the given set of interference measurement resources. The UE may transmit the encoded interference information, and the network entity may decode the encoded interference information. The network entity may schedule communications with the UE based on the interference information.

Abstract: A receiving device may be either a UE or a base station. The receiving device may receive, from a transmitting device, communication based on a current reference signal (RS) pattern. The receiving device may determine, based on the received communication, at least one updated RS pattern for at least one resource block (RB). The at least one updated RS pattern may include at least one updated energy per resource element (EPRE) value for one or more RS tones. Further, the receiving device may transmit, to the transmitting device, a report of the at least one updated RS pattern. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may involve a receiving device selecting a receive beam for receiving a signal from a transmitting device based on a relative direction of the transmit beam used to transmit the signal. A first wireless device may receive, from a second wireless device, an indication of a first angular range. The first angular range may be associated with a set of transmit beams for the second wireless device and correspond to at least two transmit beams of the set of transmit beams. The first wireless device may select a receive beam from a set of receive beams based on the first angular range and receive a reference signal, from the second wireless device, using the selected receive beam. The first device may also transmit channel information, to second wireless device, based on the reference signal.
