Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for neighbor discovery and wireless inter-connection in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a base station (BS) in the wireless communication network includes generating measurement information regarding neighboring BSs of the BS in the wireless communication network; determining a first parent BS of the neighboring BSs to connect to based on the measurement information; performing an initial access procedure with the first parent BS to connect to the first parent BS; identifying an end-to-end route for the BS for transfer of data between a user equipment (UE) and a gateway via the wireless communication network; and transferring the data between the gateway and the UE based on the identified end-to-end route.

The method comprises: establishing a communication link with an access point (AP); receiving a triggering indication based on link information measured by the electronic device; determining a quality of the communication link between the electronic device and the AP based on the received triggering indication; comparing, based on the determined quality of the communication link, at least two Q values fetched from a Q table that is determined according to context in which in the electronic device is being used; setting a quantized aggressive index (QAI) value based on the compared at least two Q values; and generating a disconnection command based on the QAI value, wherein the disconnection command is a physical disconnection command or a virtual disconnection command of the communication link between the electronic device and the AP.

Abstract: A method of a network entity for communicating with a mesh network is provided. The method comprises receiving, from a communication node in the mesh network, information including a network topology of the mesh network and an angle separation of antenna panels of a plurality of communication nodes in the mesh network; identifying a value associated with a number of links of each communication node of the plurality of communication nodes in the mesh network; determining whether a number of available channels is greater than or equal to the value plus one; identifying at least one potential connection of the plurality of communication nodes based on a threshold and the network topology of the mesh network when the number of available channels is less than the value plus one; and transmitting, to the communication node in the mesh network, a channel allocation decision based on the at least one potential connection of the communication node.
