    Abstract: A user equipment is provided for providing content. The user equipment comprising at least one memory and at least one processing device. The at least one process is configured to receive a data stream over a network, the data stream comprising un-segmented media data for the content. The at least one process is also configured to identify segment boundaries in the un-segmented media data to identify segments and determine a segment number for each of the identified segments from a media presentation description (MPD) based on the segment boundaries. The at least one process is also configured to retrieve a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with each of a plurality of dynamic adaptive streaming over hypertext transfer protocol (DASH) segments based on the segment number for each of the plurality of DASH segments and provide the URL associated with each of the plurality of DASH segments to a client player.

    Abstract: An includes a decoding device for fast and efficient access of the EVC slices in a file, The decoding device includes a communication interface and a processor operably coupled to the communication interface. The communication interface is configured to receive a compressed bitstream. The processor determines one or more slices of the compressed bitstream to decode, in a component track. The processor also identifies a track reference in a configuration record of the component track, wherein the track reference indicates a track that is separate from the component track and the track includes parameter sets required to process the one or more slices. The processor further decodes for display the one or more slices using the parameter sets included in the indicated track.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for wireless communication between at least one base station and user equipment, the user equipment including a transceiver and processing circuitry. The transceiver is configured to receive a packet comprising a control message with a header and a payload related to fragments of multimedia content. The header includes a message identifier indicating whether the control message is a low delay consumption message, a length of the controller message, and a version of the control message. The processing circuitry is configured to determine whether the control message is the low delay consumption message based on the message identifier. The processing circuitry is also configured to, responsive to the control message being the low delay consumption message, configure the packet based on the payload and the control message before receiving headers of the fragments of the multimedia content.

    Abstract: A method, receiver, and server enable content protection over broadcast channels. A method for receiving a media license includes receiving broadcast media data including at least a portion that is protected and requesting a message from a content decryption module (CDM) of the receiver. The method includes receiving a license signaling message including encrypted license data and identifying one or more hash codes in the license signaling message. Additionally, the method includes identifying the encrypted license data for the receiver based on a mapping between the one or more hash codes and a hash of the message from the CDM. A server for providing a media license sends, to a receiver or a group of receivers, a license signaling message including encrypted license data and a license message hash indicating a hash code used to identify the receiver or the group of receivers for the encrypted license data.

    Abstract: A method includes calculating a complexity value for each segment or version of multimedia content. The multimedia content has multiple versions associated with common content and different encoding parameters, and each version is divided into segments. The method also includes adaptively streaming the multimedia content to a client device based on at least some of the calculated complexity values. The complexity value for each segment or version is calculated by summing multiple operation complexity values defining complexities of operations for decoding the segment or version. The operation complexity values could include values for a bit parsing operation, a buffer initialization operation, an intra-prediction operation, an inverse quantization and transform operation, a reference block fetch operation, a fractional interpolation operation, and in-loop deblocking operation, a sample adaptive offset correction operation, an adaptive loop filtering operation, and a de-ringing filtering operation.
