Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for beam management after channel setup. A method of operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving at least one of synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS), measuring the at least one of the SSB or the CSI-RS, and determining downlink (DL) quasi-co-location (QCL) properties for DL communication based on the at least one of the SSB or the CSI-RS. The method further includes determining an uplink (UL) spatial domain filter for UL communication, receiving DL channels using the determined DL QCL properties until only one of only one joint TCI state or only one DL TCI state is configured, activated, or indicated to the UE, and transmitting UL channels using the determined UL spatial domain filter until only one of only one joint TCI state or only one UL TCI state is configured, activated, or indicated to the UE.

The method further includes receiving information on PDSCH repetition schemes; determining, based on the first or second TCI states, a first QCL assumption for receiving the first PDSCH; and determining, based on the first or second TCI states, a second QCL assumption for receiving the second PDSCH.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for channel state information (CSI) resource configuration in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a user equipment includes receiving a first and second configurations for a first and second sets of reference signal (RS) resources, respectively, configured in a CSI resource setting, receiving a first set of RSs through the first set of RS resources, and receiving a second set of RSs through the second set of RS resources. A method of operating a user equipment (UE) includes identifying an indication for reporting, in a channel state information (CSI) report, at least a first group of two resource indicators and corresponding beam metrics associated with a first entity identity (ID) and a second entity ID, respectively, and transmitting, in the CSI report, the first group of two resource indicators and the corresponding beam metrics. The first or second entity IDs correspond to at least one of: a physical cell identity (PCI) corresponding to a serving cell PCI or a PCI different from the serving cell PCI; and a PCI index pointing to a PCI corresponding to the serving cell PCI or a PCI different from the serving cell PCI in a list of PCIs that are higher layer configured to the UE.

The method further includes determining a first number of parameters associated with the first TCI state based on the configuration information for the number of entries and the information indicating associations; determining a time to apply the first number of parameters associated with the first TCI state; and transmitting UL channels, using the first number of parameters, starting at the determined time.
