摘要: A male terminal comprises an electrical contact portion and an insulating member made of insulating material. The electrical contact portion is inserted into and connected to a female terminal. The insulating member includes a to-be-received portion accommodated in the electrical contact portion and a to-be-exposed portion. The electrical contact portion includes a bottom wall upon which the to-be-received portion is disposed, and a top wall. The to-be-received portion is positioned between the bottom wall and the top wall having a securing engagement portion brought into engagement with the to-be-received portion. The male terminal is made by placing the to-be-received portion upon the bottom wall while the bottom wall, the top wall, and the securing engagement portion are flush with each other, bending them such that the to-be-received portion resides between the top wall and the bottom wall, and bringing the securing engagement portion into engagement with the to-be-received portion.

摘要: A connector having an engagement detecting device, comprises: a first connector housing (100) for housing a plurality of first connector terminals (23); a second connector housing (200) for housing a plurality of second connector terminals (21) mated with the first connector terminals, and engaged with the first connector housing; a slider (300, 300A) inserted into the first connector housing in two stages of a half engagement position and a full engagement position; and a short-circuit spring (400) disposed within the first connector housing, for shorting electrically two adjacent mated connector terminals (23, 21) when the slider is inserted into the first connector housing to the half engagement position, but disconnecting electrically the same two adjacent mated connector terminals when the second connector housing (200) is engaged with the first connector housing (100) and thereafter the slider is further inserted into the first connector housing to the full engagement position. The short-circuit spring (400) can apply a reaction force to the slider when the slider is further inserted to the full engagement position, thus providing a stable connector engagement detecting device while decreasing the number of parts.

摘要: A connector in which double engagement can be easily and positively verified even if an engagement pin has been damaged while being inserted into an engagement pin hole in a housing of the connector. The connector has an insertion engaging device provided with engaging pins for double engagement of a plurality of female terminals accommodated in terminal accommodating chambers which are longitudinally and laterally arranged in a connector housing. The insertion engaging device is provided on one outer peripheral surface of the connector housing, and the connector housing includes ascertainment holes penetrating through positions where fore ends of the engagement pins normally inserted into the engagement pin insertion holes are placed so that the presence of the fore ends of the engagement pins inserted into the engagement pin holes can be visually ascertained.

A slanting surface is formed on at least one of a distal end of each of the retaining pins and that outer surface of each of the terminals which can contact the retaining pin inserted into the retaining pin insertion hole 38, the slanting surface extending in a direction intersecting a direction of insertion of the retaining pin, and the slanting surface producing a force urging the associated terminals to move deeper in the corresponding terminal receiving chambers when the second insertion retaining means is attached to the housing.

摘要: A connector 1 is so formed that a terminal 3 inserted into a connector housing 2 is held within the connector housing by being latched by a holding projection arranged on a front end portion of a housing lance 6 and that flexion of the housing lance is regulated by a strip 12 for preventing a terminal from coming out, such strip being inserted from the front end side of the housing lance into a lance flexion gap. A stepped portion 10 having a holding surface 10a is formed on a front end 8 of the housing lance. The holding surface 10a faces the rear side of the housing lance. The connector housing has a projecting wall 11 on the inner surface thereof, the projecting wall 11 having a confronting holding surface 11a. The confronting holding surface 11a is arranged at a position substantially confronting the holding surface 10a and can abut against the holding surface. When the front end of the strip 12 has pushed the front end of the housing lance 6, the holding surface 10a abuts against the confronting holding surface 11a so as to regulate the positioning of the front ends.
