    摘要: In the CELP coding system a low-order synthesis filter and a cascade-connected synthesis filter formed by a cascade connection of low- and high-order synthesis filters are provided, a synthesized acoustic signal is estimated in a mode decision part for an input acoustic signal, and the estimated synthesized acoustic signal is subjected to inverse filtering by an inverse filter corresponding to the low-order synthesis filter and an inverse filter corresponding to the cascade-connected synthesis filter to obtain residual signals. That one of the synthesis filters which corresponds to the residual signal of smaller power is selected by a switch, and a codebook is searched for indices which will minimize the error between the output synthesized acoustic signal by the selected synthesis filter and the input acoustic signal.

    摘要: A vehicle occupant protection device has an airbag, a gas generator for inflating the airbag and a door that opens when a airbag is inflated. The door is provided with a pair of sidewall portions on a backside of the door. Each sidewall portion has a stopper for limiting an opening angle of the door during the inflation of the airbag. When the airbag is inflated and the door opens, the stopper abuts against a backside of a cover, thereby keeping the door from further opening. Also, upon the inflation of the air bag, the sidewall portions are brought and project to a front side of the cover together with the door, thereby limiting the inflation of the airbag in a lateral direction.

    摘要: In a speech coding method of the present invention, initially, a plurality of samples of speech data are analyzed by a linear prediction analysis and thereby prediction coefficients are calculated. Then, the prediction coefficients are quantized, and the quantized prediction coefficients are set in a synthesis filter. Moreover, a pitch period vector is selected from an adaptive codebook in which a plurality of pitch period vectors are stored, and the selected pitch period vector is multiplied by a first gain which is obtained, at the same time, with a second gain. In addition, a noise waveform vector is selected from a random codebook in which a plurality of the noise waveform vectors are stored, and is multiplied by a predicted gain and the second gain. Then, the speech vector is synthesized by exciting the synthesis filter with the pitch period vector multiplied by the first gain, and with the noise waveform vector multiplied by the predicted gain and the second gain. Consequently, speech data comprising a plurality of samples are coded as a unit of a frame operation. Furthermore, the predicted gain multiplied by the noise waveform vector which is selected in a subsequent frame operation, is predicted based on the current noise waveform vector which is multiplied by the predicted gain and the second gain at the current frame operation, and also the previous waveform vector which is multiplied by the predicted gain and the second gain in the previous frame operation.

R, G and B data read out from an original by a scanner are converted into C, M and Y complementary color data by a complementary color reversing circuit. The complementary color data are transmitted to a black edge processing circuit and to a black edge detecting circuit. The black edge detecting circuit detects the inside or the outside of a black edge, and in accordance therewith, the black edge processing circuit, for example, changes the coefficient of a spatial filter. The output of the black edge processing circuit is outputted to a printer through a black generating circuit, a tone correcting circuit and a half tone processing circuit.

    摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus for detecting pixels in a dotted image area (dotted area pixels). Image data corresponding to each of the pixels is coded into one of a predetermined number of discrete values. The distance between change points at which the value of the pixel after the coding is changed from a first value to a second value is detected. Further, it is examined whether or not periodicity is recognized in the distance between the change points in the vicinity of a target pixel. If periodicity is recognized in the distance between the change points, it is judged that the target pixel may constitute a dotted image area.

An edge detector detects a pixel of an edge based on the three primary color data. Judgement conditions for the pixel color judgement are established based upon characteristics that depend upon the order of arrangement of color filters in a scanner.
