摘要: A liquid container is provided with an atmospheric air communicating port communicated with atmospheric air in an upper portion thereof, and a liquid supply port for supplying ink contained in the liquid container to a recording head in a lower portion thereof. A negative pressure producing member for retaining ink and imparting a negative pressure to the recording head is contained in the liquid container. On an upper wall in the liquid container on which the atmospheric air communicating port is provided, a plurality of ribs are integrally formed to protrude to the inside of the liquid container. A space portion is formed between the upper wall of the liquid container on which the ribs are disposed and an upper surface of the negative pressure producing member. A capillary channel for generating a capillary force is provided on the upper wall and side walls of the liquid container which form the space portion.

摘要: A structure for informing a state of the ink tank by a light emitting section such as LED, capable of displaying such information at a position easily visible by the user and favorably sending the emitted light both to the user and a light receiver section on the printer side without needing electric wiring which may disturb the user's visibility or manipulation. The light emitting section is separated from the display section and a light guiding section is provided between the both. A member for suitably limiting the emission of light is provided in the display section. Thereby, it is possible to dispose the display section at the best position without needing the electric wiring on the ink tank and obtain a preferable light volume suitable both for the improvement in user's visibility and the stability of the operation of the light receiving section.

摘要: A gas-liquid separation membrane is provided with high reliability and performance while having gas-permeable pores formed independently of each other in even pore size and in uniform distribution. The gas-liquid separation membrane has a plurality of gas-permeable pores that permit permeation of gas and that prevent permeation of liquid by capillary force, and the plurality of gas-permeable pores are formed independently of each other and in even pore size by laser machining.

摘要: An ink-jet cartridge constructed with an inkjet printing head and an ink tank is positioned and filed on an upper surface of a base in a condition where ink ejection opening forming surface of the head is oriented upwardly. The ink ejection opening forming surface is contacted with a lower end portion of an elastic member which is movable in a direction of arrow a or arrow b. By sucking through suction hole or the like of the elastic member, vacuum pressure is introduced into a space between the elastic member and the ink ejection opening forming surface to discharge bubbles residing in liquid passages or floating up to the ink ejection openings.

摘要: A method for coupling a liquid jet head unit is to couple a liquid jet head unit for recording by discharging liquid to a recording medium with a head installation member capable of installing the head unit through an elastic member. This method comprises the steps of preparing a liquid jet head unit structured integrally with two orifice arrays substantially paralleled and a first supply opening group for supplying liquid to the orifice arrays, and a head installation member provided with a second supply opening group corresponding to the first supply opening group for supplying liquid to the liquid jet head unit, and also, an elastic member having holes corresponding to each of the supply opening groups, providing first and second coupling units for one end side and the other end side of the two orifice arrays for coupling the liquid jet head unit and the head unit installation member, respectively and coupling only one face of the liquid jet head unit and the head unit installation member using the first and second coupling units. With the adoption of this method, it is possible to implement stabilized recording on a recording medium by a stabilized ink supply, at the same time, preventing any erroneous installation in the coupling mode.
