摘要: A method and an apparatus for detecting an object in the image pickup field by template matching and tracking the detected object. An intruding object is detected from an image acquired by an image pickup device which takes the image of an image pickup field. A template image is formed from the detected object and is stored in a storing unit. A template matching is performed between a present input image of the image pickup field and the template image stored in the storing unit to detect the location of that part of the object which has a maximum degree of coincidence with the template image. An edge detection of the object is performed over a predetermined search area in the present input image which area includes the detected part of the object having a maximum degree of coincidence. Based on results of the edge detection, the detected part of the object is corrected and is determined as the present location of the object. A part of the present input image having the corrected location is a new template image with which the template image stored in the storing unit is updated. Instead of a single template image, a plurality of template images may be used for template matching to assure the tracking of the object with even higher accuracy and stability.

摘要: A moving object recognition method for recognizing a specified moving object in an input image signal in distinction from other objects, and a moving object tracking and monitoring apparatus using the method. One or more moving objects in the input image signal are sequentially detected by the subtraction method, the physical quantities of the detected moving objects are sequentially stored in a memory. Based on this physical quantities, one or more loci of the detected moving objects are determined. A group of physical quantities associated with each locus are stored in a memory as correlated information series of a moving object. Based on the information series thus stored, at least one of a plurality of classification methods is applied to each moving object for determining whether the moving object belongs to the specified moving object or other than the specified moving object. Thus, a detected moving object is recognized as to whether it is a specified moving object or not. A plurality of the classification methods include a method based on the continuity of the locus of a detected moving object, a method based on the smoothness of position change of the detected moving object and a method based on the size of the detected moving object.

摘要: Upon generating a plurality of image data sets at different resolutions from a digital image data obtained by a film scanner or the like and recording the data sets in a recording medium as an image file having a hierarchy such as the one defined by the FlashPix standard, image quality degradation caused in generation processing of the image data sets at different resolutions can be minimized. Image data for printing is generated in order to generate photographic print by carrying out interpolation processing by an interpolation processing device (printing image data generating device) on an original image obtained by an image obtaining apparatus. Image data sets at different resolutions are also generated by directly carrying out interpolation processing by an interpolation processing device (stepping resolution image data set generating device) on the original image.

摘要: A spatial-domain processing is carried out on an image signal, which is made up of a series of original picture element values of picture elements constituting an image, the values being expressed with integral numbers, and spatial-domain processed signal values, which correspond to the respective picture elements and are represented by real numbers, are thereby obtained. Each of the spatial-domain processed signal values is multiplied by a factor of n, where n is larger than 1 and represents a real number other than integral numbers. In this manner, n-fold signal values are obtained. Each of the n-fold signal values is approximately represented by an integral number. The thus obtained integral number is taken as a new picture element value of the corresponding picture element constituting the image. Gradation transform is thus carried out such that no artifact may occur at a gradation part in an image, which is reproduced from the image signal obtained from the gradation transform.

摘要: A magnetic disc apparatus capable of selectively driving at least two types of the magnetic discs having signal recording portions on their major surfaces and having different recording densities. The magnetic disc apparatus includes a main head carriage mounted for movement on a base block, a supporting arm having its one end supported by a main head carriage, and a magnetic head having a first transducer having a slider, and a first core and adapted for accessing information signals at a first recording density, and a second transducer having a second core and adapted for accessing information signals at a second recording density higher than the first recording density. A magnetic gap for the first transducer and a magnetic gap for the second transducer are formed on the surface of the magnetic head facing the major surface of the magnetic disc. The magnetic disc apparatus also includes a flat-plate-shaped pivoting member for pivotably supporting the magnetic head in a state in which the slider and the base block are disposed on one and the opposite sides of the pivoting member. The magnetic head is changed in its posture to the magnetic disc to follow surface deviation of the magnetic disc produced during driving to achieve correct accessing of the magnetic disc by the magnetic head.

摘要: A plurality of image signals are obtained, which represent a radiation image of a single object or radiation images of the single object, and which have different frequency characteristics, each of the image signals being made up of a series of image signal components. The image signal components of the plurality of the image signals, which image signal components represent corresponding picture elements, are weighted with predetermined weight factors. The weighted image signal components of the plurality of the image signals, which image signal components represent corresponding picture elements, are added to one another, and an addition signal is thereby obtained. The value of the weight factor with respect to the frequency components, which have a low signal-to-noise ratio, is rendered smaller than the value of the weight factor with respect to the frequency components, which have a high signal-to-noise ratio, in accordance with the frequency characteristics of each of the image signals.

摘要: A first image signal representing a radiation image of an object is obtained by exposing a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which the radiation image has been stored, to stimulating rays, which cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation, the emitted light being detected. A second image signal representing the radiation image is thereafter obtained by again exposing the stimulable phosphor sheet to stimulating rays, the light emitted by the stimulable phosphor sheet being detected. Read-out conditions, under which the second image signal is to be obtained, and/or image processing conditions, under which the second image signal having been obtained is to be image processed, are adjusted on the basis of the first image signal. A storage device stores information representing a standard pattern of radiation images. A signal transforming device transforms the first image signal representing the radiation image into a transformed image signal representing the radiation image, which has been transformed into the standard pattern. A condition adjuster is provided with a neural network, which receives the transformed image signal and feeds out information representing the read-out conditions and/or the image processing conditions.

摘要: An original image is transformed into a multi-resolution space and thereby decomposed into images, each of which is of one of a plurality of different frequency bands. An operation for multiplying by an emphasis coefficient is carried out on an image of a predetermined frequency band, which is among the plurality of the different frequency bands. The emphasis coefficient is set such that the degree of emphasis for an image portion in the image of the predetermined frequency band may become higher than the degree of emphasis for the other portions in the image of the predetermined frequency band, the image portion corresponding to a portion in an image of a frequency band lower than the predetermined frequency band, at which portion the absolute value of the signal value of the image of the lower frequency band is comparatively large. An inverse multi-resolution transform is carried out on the image of the predetermined frequency band, which has been obtained from the operation for multiplying by the emphasis coefficient, and the images of the other frequency bands. A processed image is thereby obtained.
