Abstract:
A method for evaluating a gauge controller is disclosed. The method includes counting a number of high pulses for a plurality of signal types until either each of the control signals present low signals. After the number of high signals are counted, an angular offset of a gauged needle is calculated.
Abstract:
A grommet for housing electrical wires constructed in accordance with the teachings of the present disclosure includes a mounting structure, a tube, and a plurality of stiffeners. The mounting structure is configured to mount to a panel of a vehicle, the mounting structure defining a first passage extending therethrough. The tube extends from the mounting structure and defines a second passage in communication with the first passage. The tube includes a corrugated portion having a plurality of ridges and a plurality of grooves interposed between the plurality of ridges. The stiffeners are interposed between those of the plurality of ridges that are disposed within a zone of the corrugated portion. The stiffeners extend partially around a circumference of the tube.
Abstract:
A junction box assembly includes a housing member and an electrical component. The housing member has a housing surface and a component receptacle having a pair of opposing sidewalls coupled to the housing surface. Each sidewall has a locking opening disposed therein and each locking opening defines a locking surface. A post is arranged within the component receptacle and extends from the housing surface for a predetermined distance to a post surface. The electrical component is received in the component receptacle and has a component surface adjacent the post surface and a barb received in each locking opening. The post applies a force to the electrical component for retaining the barb against the locking surface.
Abstract:
A connector is provided that may include first and second housings. The first housing may include a first body and a lock arm. The first body may include a first receptacle. The lock arm may be pivotably coupled to the first body. The second housing may include a second body having a second receptacle and a support member. The first and second housings may be engageable with each other in a first position and a second position and movable relative to each other from the first position to the second position. The lock arm may be deflectable relative to the support member when the first and second housings are in the first position. The support member may restrict deflection of the lock arm when the first and second housings are in the second position.
Abstract:
A device 10 for organizing an array of optical fiber cables (14) terminated with fiber optic connectors (20). The device includes a base plate (22) having a plurality of mounting sites (24) configured to receive a like plurality of dust covers (20) for the respective fiber optic connectors (18). Two or more base plates (22) may be stacked through use of stacking spacers (42) to increase the number of mounting sites (24). The device 10 maintains the array of optical fiber cables during manufacture, shipping and handling, eliminating snarling of the individual optical fiber cables (14).
Abstract:
A reverse current protection system for a vehicle electrical system that communicates with a trailer electrical system generally includes a mode determination module that receives a reverse current flow detection signal and that selectively determines a field effect transistor (FET) operating mode to be a reverse on mode based on the reverse current flow detection signal. A current flow control module generates a current flow control signal to a field effect transistor to control the field effect transistor based on the determined FET operating mode.
Abstract:
A charge circuit interrupt device comprises a ground fault interrupt module, a current generation module and a current injection module. The ground fault interrupt module disconnects a load from a charging source when a current imbalance exceeds a threshold. The current generation module generates a balancing current based on the current imbalance. The current injection module inputs the balancing current into the charging source to oppose the current imbalance. The charge circuit interrupt device may further include an input balance disable control module that disables the current generation module from generating the balancing current when the current imbalance exceeds the threshold, and a current isolation module that isolates the charging source and the ground fault interrupt module, the current generation module and the current injection module.
Abstract:
A display for measured quantities can include a gauge with a set of indicia spaced around the gauge to indicate the measured quantities. A window can be formed in the gauge that extends along the set of indicia. An elliptical reflector can be positioned such that a first focus of the elliptical reflector is on the same axis as the center of the gauge with this axis perpendicular to the axis connecting the foci. An optical device can be mounted on a shaft and be arranged to redirect a light beam from a second foci of the elliptical reflector onto the elliptical reflector to generate a virtual pointer in the window. Means can be provided for turning the shaft to rotate the optical device. A light source can project the light beam onto the optical device. Rotation of the optical device can enable the virtual pointer to be selectively aimed at the set of indicia.
Abstract:
A vehicle display with a housing having a gauge port, an interior wall around the gauge port, and an appliqué port extending from an exterior side of the vehicle display and intersecting the gauge port. A light source provides light into the gauge port and directs the light outwardly from a front side of the housing. An appliqué has a first locking feature. The appliqué port at least partially receives the appliqué between the front side of the housing and the light source. The light from the light source illuminates a portion of the appliqué. The first locking features releasably engages a second locking feature.
Abstract:
A connector state control module includes a sensing module that determines a state of a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal. A charge switching module selectively provides a voltage based on the state of the PWM signal. A charge storage module stores a charge based on the voltage. A power supply switching module selectively outputs a power signal based on the charge.
