    摘要： A rake for smoothing sand and other particulate material surfaces has a head which is an elongate helical coil. Preferably, the coil is a coil spring which can be compressed axially from an open to a storage condition and means are provided for retaining the spring in its storage condition and advantageously also in intermediate operative conditions to compensate for variations in coarseness of the particulate material to be raked. It is also preferred that the rake handle is formed of a mutually inclined pair of arms movable to reduce their included angle and having the coil spring extending between their distal ends. It is especially preferred that the arms are arcuately mutually divergent so that the distal ends thereof move substantially linearly.

    摘要： A retractable rake is shown as in one example for use as a courtesy rake by a golfer at a sand trap, or for light raking chores, in general. The rake has a plurality of projecting tines which diverge outwardly when they are in their extended position. When the rake is not in use, the tines are retractable into the shank of the rake so the rake is compact and may be stored and carried within the golf bag.

    摘要： A hand garden tool generally in the form of a rake wherein all tines are individually vertically-adjustable upon the crossbar, some to different depths depending from the crossbar and alternate tines can be elevated or raised to allow the depending tines to astraddle vegetable plant or flower rows so the cultivating action is had by a single raking action or pass of the converted rake cultivating tool along the vegetable rows and so that the rows are cultivated on opposite sides at the same time. The vegetable or flower rows in the garden which are to be cultivated by the use of this tool can be spaced closer together and conserve upon ground space and the work required for the cultivator to keep a garden thereby greatly reduced. The tool can be inverted and worked from one side or the other with the alternate raised tines by less rows at a time and at times the pulling is being made in more tough ground. The tines are all made individually adjustable upon the crossbar but showing various structures to lock the individual tines in their adjusted positions. As the plant grows, the tines will be lowered to greater depths to adequately clear the tops of the plants that have grown even up to ten inches or more. The tines can take various forms and the locking structures of the tines can be varied for the different tine forms. One locking structure is made common to lock to all the adjusted tines onto the crossbar assembly in their individually-adjusted positions.
