    摘要: A machine for producing points on the pilot end of a rotary fastener, the machine comprising a rotating dial for supporting an array of blank fasteners above a pair of dies. The blank fasteners are sequentially fed between the dies for pointing thereof. The dial is notched on its periphery to hold the blanks therein. The notches on the dial are acutely angled with respect to the axis of the dial and are secured thereagainst during the die pinching operation to prevent bending of the fasteners as they are pointed.

    摘要: An automatic thread cutting machine for nuts and similar mass-produced parts where the nuts or the like are taken from a magazine and moved through a feed trough into a guide where they are held secured against rotation and are then pushed by means of a pusher over a rotating thread cutter from where they are subsequently removed while the pusher is returned to its starting position. The machine is provided with an actuating cylinder which is capable of being charged with a pressure medium and which has a piston rod that is provided at its free end with a plunger serving as the pusher. A clock pulse controlled switch valve arrangement is disposed in the pressure medium line leading to the actuating cylinder, and the machine is electrically protected by a safety device which is influenced by the position of the piston rod, the safety device being rendered operative in dependence on the position of the piston rod.

    摘要: The present invention relates generally to improvements in machines designed to form longitudinally extending slots in the shanks of fasteners and more particularly in fasteners having radially extending wings at the entering end portion. The machine incorporates an indexing dial with blank receiving pockets at the outer periphery thereof to transfer the blanks from a loading station to a slotting station. An orienting station intermediate the loading and slotting stations creates a rotary force on the shanks of the fasteners causing them to rotate relative to the pockets. The pockets include means to limit the rotation of the shanks therein by interengagement of one of the wings with an abutment surface formed in a recess in the pocket. The orienting station revolves the blank about its axis until the shank is properly oriented for the slotting operation.

    摘要: A machine for cutting slots in the shanks of screws includes a frame supporting a rotatable shaft with a disk attached thereto. A plurality of notches are formed in the periphery of the disk for carrying the screws and the shaft is rotated intermittently by an indexing means to move the disk along a predetermined path extending through fastener-receiving, slotting and exit stations. At the slotting station, two saws are advanced from retracted positions relative to the disk to cut slots in the shanks of two screws during a dwell period of the machine. At the fastener-receiving station, the fasteners are fed down a ramp from a feeder and are guided into the peripheral notches in the disk. An adapter fastened on the shaft above the disk includes a plurality of clamping members movable toward and away from the disk to clamp the fasteners on the disk as the fasteners are carried along the path through the slotting station. Mounted on an arm pivotally secured to the frame is a rotatable turret which is movable with the arm from an out-of-the-way position to an in-service position disposed above the adapter. Supported on the turret is a plurality of plungers adapted to engage with the clamping members on the adapter and urge the members into clamping engagement with the fasteners. The turret is mounted so as to rotate in a plane slanted relative to the plane of rotation of the adapter so that only those clamping members located in the direction of disk rotation between the fastener-receiving station and the exit station are depressed by the plungers.
