Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for the combination of at least two plies of tissue paper without glue and by pressure marking, characterized in that it involves embossing at least one first ply according to an embossing design by passage between a first cylinder and a second cylinder covered externally with a rubber blanket, then combining at least one second ply with the first ply by causing both plies to pass between the first engraved steel cylinder of axis CC′ and at least one first series of small externally smooth coaxial cylinders of axis XX′. Both plies are then passed between the first cylinder and a second series of small externally smooth coaxial cylinders of axis YY′, the axes of CC′, XX′; and YY′ being horizontal and parallel. The invention also includes the apparatus for carrying out the disclosed method.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for the combination of at least two plies (5, 6) based on tissue paper without glue and by pressure marking, characterized in that it involves embossing at least one first ply (5) according to an embossing design by passage between a first cylinder (2) and a cylinder (4) covered externally with a rubber blanket, then combining at least one second ply (6) with the said first ply (5) by causing the said plies (5, 6) to pass between a first engraved steel cylinder (2) of axis CC′ and at least one first series of small externally smooth coaxial cylinders (1) of axis XX′, then between the said first cylinder (2) and a second series of small externally smooth coaxial cylinders (3) of axes YY′, the axes CC′, XX′ and YY′ being horizontal and parallel. The invention embraces, furthermore, the installation intended for carrying out the said method.
Abstract:
The sheet of tissue paper includes at least one first embossed zone (A1, A2) having protrusions on a surface corresponding to alveoles on the other. The alveoles have a substantially polygonal base and the sheet includes at least one second, unembossed zone (B). In the invention, the alveoles 101′, 102′ are configured along at least one array, the mutually facing sides of two adjacent alveoles define a bridge (P) having rectilinear or substantially rectilinear edges of length L which is larger than its greatest width D, one or several bridges connected to each other subtending a path preferably between two second unembossed zones (B) which are separated by at least one first, embossed zone (A1, A2). The invention also relates to a cylinder embossing such a sheet.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a process for manufacturing and packaging rolls of tissue paper, wherein at least one sheet of paper is embossed in an embossing unit that includes an engraved embossing cylinder that includes at least a first zone with a first embossing motif and a second zone with a second embossing motif that is different from the first. Rolls are obtained whose sheet is embossed according to the first motif and rolls are produced whose sheet is embossed according to the second motif. With this procedure, packs that contain rolls having different designs are produced in a simple fashion.

Abstract:
A system for embossing a substantially continuous web of material including a supply for supplying at least one substantially continuous web of material, feeding the substantially continuous web of material, an embossing device for embossing a predetermined pattern in the web material and a takeup device for taking-up the embossed web material; wherein at least one roll of the system includes an elongated core formed of a substantially rigid material and an elongated sleeve formed of a material less rigid than the elongated core with the elongated sleeve being releasably secured to the core such that the elongated sleeve is axially and circumferentially fixed with respect to the core when in operation and can be selectively axially removed from the core. Preferably, the sleeve includes an embossing pattern laser engraved thereon so as to permit the embossing pattern being run by the system to be readily changed.
Abstract:
An embossing device for tissue paper converting apparatus, includes a first roll and a second roll cooperating with each other to emboss a web of tissue paper in-between, first protrusions on the circumference of the first roll cooperating with the second roll to form a first nip with a first gap in-between, second protrusions on the circumference of the first or second roll cooperating with the other of the first and second roll as a counter roll to form a second nip with a second gap in-between. The embossing device further includes an adjusting means for selectively adjusting the second gap of the second nip of some or all second protrusions.
Abstract:
The rotating cylinder comprises: an elongated inner core (12) which is substantially rigid and an interchangeable sleeve (45) which is fitted onto the core; the sleeve is axially and angularly constrained to said core and is provided on its external surface with a raised pattern. The internal surface of the interchangeable sleeve and the external surface of the inner core are conical surfaces which are mutually complementary; axial and angular locking of the interchangeable sleeve and the inner core is achieved by the friction between the conical surfaces which are forced axially one onto the other.
Abstract:
A two layer structure comprising a fluid permeable, first layer in fluid communication with a fluid permeable second layer is provided. The two layers contact one another through a plurality of disconnected macrofeatures that project either from the first layer or the second layer. The structure has particular utility as a cover/transfer layer for use in absorbent articles.
Abstract:
An embossing roll includes a roll body and a plurality of plates which are removably secured to the roll body. Each plate includes an outer surface which is provided with an embossing pattern. The plates can be secured to the roll body by vacuum and/or mechanical devices.
