摘要: Among the embodiments of the micro-pump herein described, the first includes an array containing a plurality of conductive elements. A plate covers the array and a controller supplies and controls current to the conductive elements in the array. In this embodiment, the plate can be, and preferably is, a photopolymer. Moreover, if a photopolymer is used, it is preferable to use a thin-film photopolymer having a sub-millimeter thickness. The conductive elements can have a current individually and sequentially applied therethrough or shut-off thereto by the controller. In addition, the controller operates to temporarily apply current to substantially all of the conductive elements in the array thereby enabling a fluid disposed on the plate to be separated into positively and negatively charged fluid molecules. Following this separation, the controller applies a current sequentially through selective of the conductive elements and shuts-off current thereto in a predetermined order to define a fluid flow path. A fluid disposed on the plate and separated into positively and negatively charged molecules is forced to move along the fluid flow path by a moving electromagnetic field generated by the application of current and shutting-off of current to the selective of the conductive elements. Moreover, the fluid follows the direction of the moving electromagnetic field.

摘要: An ink jet printer is of a small size and is capable of printing high-quality images, wherein an ink with a colorant dispersed in a solvent is ejected in a direction lower than a horizontal level and is adhered to a surface of a recording medium. The recording medium is conveyed while being spaced a constant distance from ink ejecting electrodes, thereby stabilizing an electric field induced between the ink ejecting electrodes and the recording medium and stabilizing the amount of the ink ejected.

摘要: A system for producing a white-light interference hologram includes a camera adapted for recording a first and a second bitmap image of a scene from separate vantage points, and the separation distance of the vantage points, a computing engine adapted to compute three-dimensional x, y, and z characteristics of an interference hologram topology for the scene from the bitmap image and separation data, wherein x and y are two dimensional locations of bits in a bitmap of the topology and z is a depth dimension for each x,y bit, and a printer adapted to print in color the x,y bitmap, and to create the depth dimension z at each x,y bit location, providing thereby a three-dimensional interference hologram topology for the scene. In a preferred embodiment the depth dimension is created by electrophoresis, using a medium having an electrophoretic gel layer, with the ink applied to the gel in a bit-mapped pattern being ionic in nature, and capable of being migrated in the gel layer by electrophoresis. In other embodiments the third dimension is provided by using magnetic ink and migrating the bits using controlled magnetic fields.
