    摘要: In an ambient environment determination apparatus, an imager obtains a picture capturing an area ahead of a vehicle, and a street lamp is detected for each detection frame unit of the picture. Then, an urban area determination process is performed that determines whether or not the ambient environment of the vehicle is an urban area based on both of a street lamp detection result of a current detection frame unit and a street lamp detection result of a past detection frame unit of the picture. Further, in a period after the vehicle turns right or left, determination responsiveness with regard to determination whether or the ambient environment is a urban area or a non-urban area is enhanced than that in a period other than the period after the right or left turn.

The control unit may form non-symmetric light distribution pattern as a whole at the forward area of the vehicle according to road environment.

    摘要: A system and method for intelligently controlling headlights receive a multiplicity of images that represent frames of a video sequence of an external environment of a vehicle. At least one bright spot, or blob, is found that stands out from a dark background of the external environment within each frame of the multiplicity of images. A multiplicity of features is extracted from a found blob. A type is recognized of a found blob that is selected from a multiplicity of types of blobs. A determination is then made whether to turn on a high beam light or a low beam light based at least on the recognized type of the found blob and a set of rules. Finally, an action based on such decision is performed.

The visual object luminance unit estimates a visual object luminance based on information about a vehicle forward captured image. The adapted state unit estimates an adaptation luminance based on the information about the vehicle forward captured image. The recognition limit unit estimates a recognition limit luminance, in the visual object range, based on at least the adaptation luminance. The visual object recognition unit determines whether the visual object luminance is less than the recognition limit luminance. The light distribution control unit controls a light distribution of a headlamp unit such that the visual object luminance is included in a range of the recognition limit luminance, if the visual object luminance is less than the recognition limit luminance.

    摘要: The apparatus for automatically adjusting a direction of a light axis of a vehicle headlight includes a steering angle sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, a memory for storing a plurality of control maps each of which defining a relationship between the steering angle and a swiveling angle, a processing unit for performing a map switchover by which one of the plurality of the control maps is selected depending on the vehicle speed and the steering angle, and an actuator for swiveling, from an initial direction, the light axis of the vehicle headlight by the swiveling angle defined by one of the plurality of control maps selected by the processing unit. The processing unit performs the map switchover when the steering angle is changed to outside a predetermined angular range around a neutral angular position of the steering wheel.
