    摘要： A vertical blind system installed over a window area has a plurality of carrier and hanger assembly units, each of which has a vertical louver or vane suspended from it. The unit has two major subcomponents. They are a frame having a chamber, and a replaceable, manually insertable cartridge having a pendant member for holding the individual blind. The frame has a top circular bearing and a resilient retaining clip which holds the cartridge in position in the chamber. Whenever the cartridge becomes broken, the service technician can quickly snap out the broken cartridge and reinsert a new one. This can be done without the inconvenience and time consuming task of dismantling the entire vertical blind system to repair a single carrier and hanger assembly unit.

    摘要： A vertical blind mechanism using a traverse assembly with several louver carrying carriers that are interconnected with a pantograph and the louvers are rotated by the movement imparted by drive shaft disposed through the carriers. The drive wheel assembly includes two sprocket wheels, one of them freewheeling and the other one drives the shaft. Cords are routed through the carriers and connected to at least one of the carriers so that the movement to the others is transmitted through the pantograph. The sprockets have headed spring loaded terminations that are inserted through a bushing that is rigidly mounted to the drive assembly.

    摘要： A vertical blind assembly of the type capable of positioning a plurality of vertical blinds in depending relation along the length of a head casing and selectively and concurrently rotate each of said vertical blinds in a predetermined angular orientation about its own longitudinal axis wherein a holder for each vertical blind is removably supported by a carrier frame and further wherein a first gear and a second gear are removably mounted on the carrier frame so as to cause the aforementioned rotation and angular orientation of the vertical blinds. The assembly further comprises a plurality of connecting links removably attached to one another in an interlocking fashion so as to interconnect the various carrier frames along the length of the casing head. A first positioning pull-cord or like assembly is operable to extend the plurality of blinds along the length of the head casing or retract such plurality at one end thereof. The various components of the carrier structure including the holder is removably attached to the carrier frame to facilitate repair, assembly, disassembly and maintenance.

    摘要： The traverse rod assembly includes an elongated hollow traverse rod having a pair of parallel channels each of which has a lengthwise slot therein, one of said slots opening downwardly. Plural hangers are slidably supported in one of the channels and they include structures pivotal about substantially vertical axes. Each hanger also includes additional structure cooperating with an elongated drive rod rotatably supported in pulley housings secured to the ends of the traverse rod. A master carrier is slidably mounted on the traverse rod and is operatively connected to at least one of the hangers to effect movement thereof in response to movement of the master carrier. The hangers are interconnected by a flexible strand which limits the maximum spacing therebetween.

    摘要： Vertical blinds having commonly housed and traversely movable controls for controlling the traverse and rotation of the vanes are disclosed. In a disclosed embodiment, the vanes are supported by carrier members, and a rotation rod extends through the carrier members. The carrier members are slideable along the rotation rod. A control assembly is mounted to slide along and also rotate the rotation rod. Sliding of the control assembly along the rotation rod slides the carrier members to thereby traverse the vanes, and actuation of the control assembly rotates the rotation rod and the vanes. The control assembly includes meshing bevel gears, one of which is coupled to an actuating rod or wand and the other to the rotation rod whereby rotation of the wand causes rotation of the vanes. The control assembly is slid by means of the wand which is universally connected to the control assembly. The wand is thus a unitary control for actuating both traverse and rotation of the vanes.

    摘要： A unitary, one-piece vane carrier for vertical blinds is disclosed. The unitary carrier includes a carrier body and an elongated spacer link extending from one end of the body, the spacer link and body forming a single, unitary piece. In a disclosed embodiment, a tab is disposed at the distal end of the spacer link and a slotted opening is located in the end of the carrier body opposed to the end from which the spacer link extends. In that embodiment, the tab of one carrier cooperates with the slotted opening of an adjacently positioned carrier to limit the maximum spacing between the two carriers. The spacer link extends from the top of one end of the carrier body while the slotted opening is oppositely located at the top of the other end such that the spacer link of one carrier is slidable through the slotted opening of the adjacent carrier. Also in that disclosed embodiment, the spacer link includes a section of reduced width to facilitate insertion and removal of the spacer link into and from the slotted opening of an adjacent carrier and a section of reduced thickness to permit flexing of the spacer link thereat to facilitate stacking of the spacer links when the carriers are bunched.
