摘要: A cutter bit adapted to be fixed onto a working surface of a rotating drum of a milling, planing, mining or reclaiming machine is provided. The body of the cutter bit is generally formed of a hardened steel, the cutting surface may be a diamond composition fixed in a step in the upper end of the cutter bit. The cutter bit includes a cutting surface, and the cutting surface may include non-parallel side edges and an upper cutting edge parallel to a lower edge. The lower edge may be any length sufficient to inhibit unintended angular displacement of the cutting surface during operation of the working surface. Alternatively or in addition, the cutting surface may be defined by three edges to allow the cutting surface to be removed and repositioned in at least a second orientation.

摘要: A cutter bit includes a wear resistant element replaceably mounted to a front surface immediately below the cutting surface of the cutter bit. The body of the cutter bit is generally formed of a hardened steel, the cutting surface can be a diamond composition fixed in a step in the upper end of the cutter bit including side edges that taper laterally outwardly toward a lower edge of the cutting surface situated adjacent to the wear resistant element and the wear resistant element is preferably formed of a carbide composition or a sintered diamond composition. The wear resistant element can have an upper edge that closely conforms to the shape of an adjacent lower edge of the cutting surface, and can be coupled to a front end of a stem passing through an opening in the cutter bit immediately below the cutting surface, the opening being perpendicular to at least a portion of the back surface of the cutter bit.

摘要: A non-rotating mining cutter pick has a shank portion with a non-circular cross-section, a head portion including a tip region distal from the shank portion, a shoulder portion separating the shank portion from the head portion, and a cutting insert mounted at a front end of the tip region. The cutting insert includes a body formed of tungsten carbide and an element formed of a superhard material, such as PCD or other material having a prescribed knoop hardness. At least a portion of a first surface of the element is exposed on a cutting surface of the cutting insert, which improves wear properties of the mining cutter pick. The element is fused to the body of the cutting insert, preferably in a high pressure-high temperature (HPHT) process. A method of manufacture and a cutting machine incorporating the non-rotating mining cutter pick on the rotatable element are also disclosed.

摘要: A mineral cutter pick (1) has an oblong section to define leading (3), trailing (4) and side (5) faces of a shank (2), and has longitudinal and transverse axes (6, 7). The shank (2) is provided with a single, circular section through hole (16) extending orthogonally across its side faces (5), in which hole (16) is fitted a resilient member (17) of circular section with an external diameter to match that of the hole (16), the resilient member (17) itself having a coaxial through hole (18) so as to provide an annulus of constant thickness when uncompressed and adapted, in use, after the pick shank (2) has been inserted into a shank-receiving aperture (22) of a pick box (5), to itself receive, and frictionally retain, a manually insertable, and manually removable, metal pin (23) adapted to project beyond the side faces (5).

The cutting bit is received in a slot located in a first lateral surface that extends through the top surface. The retainer includes a planar tapered surface that contacts an upwardly and laterally facing oblique surface on a lower end of the cutting bit to hold the lower end of the cutting tool in contact with a lower surface of the slot.

摘要: The invention relates to a bit holder for a ploughing bit of a coal or extraction plough, with an insert pocket open on the top side for receiving a bit shank formed on the ploughing bit. The pocket is bounded by two lateral supporting walls, a front and a rear supporting wall, whereby the rear supporting wall has an elevated section projecting over the adjoining, lateral supporting walls. The rear supporting wall forming a bit support for the ploughing bit slopes down to its outer regions. In order to allow a good support for an inserted bit and easy and fast installation of the bit the front face of the rear supporting wall is fitted on the outer regions with guiding surfaces sloping down inwards to the insert pocket as an installation aid for the ploughing bit.

摘要: A drill bit assembly is provided for releasably retaining a polycrystalline diamond compact drill bit cutter. Two adjacent cavities formed in a drill bit body house, respectively, the disc-shaped drill bit cutter and a wedge-shaped cutter lock element with a removable fastener. The cutter lock element engages one flat surface of the cutter to retain the cutter in its cavity. The drill bit assembly thus enables the cutter to be locked against axial and/or rotational movement while still providing for easy removal of a worn or damaged cutter. The ability to adjust and replace cutters in the field reduces the effect of wear, helps maintains performance and improves drilling efficiency.

摘要: In the plough pick arrangement according to the invention for mining ploughs or coal ploughs, the plough pick is held in the socket of a pick holder. On that side of the pick holder which is leading in the working direction of the plough pick a pick lead-through opening is provided through which the pick can be inserted by its shank until it reaches a rear stop and is retained by a securing device. The pick can be removed from the socket through the same opening, after the securing device has been released, when pick replacement is necessary. This makes it possible to insert the pick into and remove it from the pick holder, not from the working side, but from the front of the holder. The pick holder and the pick are preferably provided with co-operating bearing and guiding faces which are inclined at an oblique angle to a plane parallel with the working face so that the cutting bit of the pick moves away from the working face when the pick is removed.
