Abstract: A machine pick may include a pick tip, a shaft extending away from the pick tip along a longitudinal axis of the machine pick, and a reference element comprising at least one sensor-sensible scale having a magnetizable material. The reference element, the shaft, and the pick tip are rigidly connected to each other. The holding device may include a pick holder having an opening for receiving a machine pick, a locking device configured to form a form-fit with the machine pick received in the opening to limit movement of the machine pick, a receptacle area for receiving a portion of the machine pick where the receptacle area may be exposed to the opening, and at least one sensor. The sensor(s) may be disposed at the receptacle area and sense the portion extending into the receptacle area without contact, and/or the reference element is form-fittingly connected to the shaft.

Abstract: A bearing component for mounting a replaceable milling drum on an earth working machine includes an annular connecting flange having a central axis. A bearing stem protrudes from the connecting flange axially in a first direction to a first axial end, the bearing stem having an outer surface including at least first and second cylindrical bearing surfaces axially spaced from each other. The bearing stem further includes a centering recess open at a second axial end opposite the first axial end, the centering recess including an opening angle decreasing in steps so that the centering recess tapers in the first direction, the centering recess forming a portion of the central opening.

Abstract: An earth working machine encompasses a machine body having a machine frame and a drive configuration rotationally drivable relative to the machine frame around a drive axis (A). The resilient portion engages the second surface of the holder and biases the retainer along the shank axis and away from the holder.

Abstract: A cutter bit includes a wear resistant element replaceably mounted to a front surface immediately below the cutting surface of the cutter bit. The body of the cutter bit is generally formed of a hardened steel, the cutting surface can be a diamond composition fixed in a step in the upper end of the cutter bit including side edges that taper laterally outwardly toward a lower edge of the cutting surface situated adjacent to the wear resistant element and the wear resistant element is preferably formed of a carbide composition or a sintered diamond composition. The wear resistant element can have an upper edge that closely conforms to the shape of an adjacent lower edge of the cutting surface, and can be coupled to a front end of a stem passing through an opening in the cutter bit immediately below the cutting surface, the opening being perpendicular to at least a portion of the back surface of the cutter bit.
