摘要： A hot water heater comprises a valve control unit having a gas inlet, a pilot burner, a main burner and a damper assembly. The damper assembly has a pressure diaphragm, a gearing mechanism and a movable damper. The control unit being coupled to operatively supply gas to the pilot burner, the main burner and the damper assembly whereby when gas is supplied to the damper assembly, the pressure diaphragm is moved to thereby cause the gearing mechanism to move the damper from a first position to a second position.

摘要： The invention concerns a thermostatic air flow controller. Such flow controllers may be specially useful for controlling the intake of air to a heating stove. The controller has a main air passage with a set of matching register plates which may open or close the passage according to the influence from a temperature sensing element, which is placed in a secondary air passage. The controller according to the invention has this temperature sensing element placed close to the register plates and between those plates and a heat shield which guards the temperature sensing element from the influence of the temperature in the air receiving vessel. This configuration admits a very compact construction which is specially useful for mounting the flow controller on the intake opening of a heating stove.

摘要： According to the present invention there is provided a boiler comprising a firebox, a control device controlling the flow of air into the firebox, a water jacket surrounding at least part of the firebox, a sensor to sense the temperature of the water in or being discharged from the water jacket, the sensor being adapted to control directly or indirectly the control device. The sensor can be a temperature sensitive valve associated with the water jacket to control the position of the control device to thereby govern the flow of air to the firebox. The invention further provides a method of providing space heating and hot water from a boiler unit comprising the operation of a boiler unit.

摘要： A mechanical thermostat for modulating the temperature of a solid fuel-burning stove, including a casing, a thermostat coil mounted in the casing to sense the stove wall plate temperature; a downwardly-spaced air admission mechanism. The air admission mechanism includes a pair of identical openable and closable orifices by way of a variable closure mechanism. A linkage connects the latter with the coil. The relation between temperature fluctuation and the effective open area of the orifices is expressed by a mathematical equation allowing for very constant desired stove temperature during burning time. A firing control for the stove is further provided.

摘要： A thermally operated vent damper wherein a flue pipe (12) mounts an eliptical damper plate (38) for rotation about a hollow rod (30). A slot (42) is formed in the damper plate (38) by bending a flange (44) perpendicular to the plane of the damper plate (38) and providing an opening for a coil (52) of bimetallic material. The coil (52) controls the movement of the damper plate between closed and opened positions responsive to temperature in the flue pipe (12). An opening (19) in the flue pipe adjacent to the coil (52) provides a means for maintaining the coil (52) temperature lower than the flue gas temperature and for controlling the opening of the damper plate in the flue pipe in inverse proportion to the draft therein. A second bimetallic coil (60) is mounted outside the flue pipe to relieve stresses on the first bimetallic coil during prolonged high temperature excursions within the flue pipe.
