Abstract:
A backflow prevention assembly is disclosed including a backflow prevention valve having a valve housing including a valve inlet end and a valve outlet end; a spool spacer of predetermined length having a first end and a second end; an inlet shut-off valve; and an outlet shut-off valve, wherein the spool spacer extends between the backflow prevention valve and one of the inlet shut-off valve and the outlet shut-off valve. The entire assembly, including the backflow prevention valve, the spool spacer, the inlet shut-off valve, and the outlet shut-off valve, is a certified assembly, certified by a certifying authority prior to installation. Methods of manufacturing a backflow prevention assembly and replacing a backflow prevention assembly are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for duct protection of a vehicle are provided. The methods and systems provided include an apparatus for directing flow discharged from a facture in a duct. The apparatus includes a ballistic containment layer, an air containment layer substantially surrounding the ballistic containment layer, and a vent defined in the ballistic containment layer and the air containment layer. The vent is configured to direct a flow discharged from the duct fracture.
Abstract:
Valve removal tool and method for removing older corporation valves/valves from pressurized lines such as water mains without depressurization. The removal tool is temporarily fastened to a saddle around the water main and includes a valve through which a tool may be inserted to grasp and unscrew the old valve and withdraw the old valve through the valve in the tool. The tool also allows placement of a plug in the opening in the water main left by the removal of the tool. Typically a cap is placed over the opening in the saddle to provide a final seal in the event the plug leaks or is somehow dislodged.
Abstract:
An irrigation sprinkler canister seal comprising a flanged screw having a threaded rod and a circular flange extending perpendicular to the rod. The seal further includes a plug piece having a threaded bore adapted to receive the threaded rod, and further including a continuous frusto-conical surface extending around an elongate axis of the plug piece, the frusto-conical surface being configured to form a circumferentially continuous fluid seal against a cylindrical rim of a cylindrical bore.
Abstract:
A wave generation component during an off cycle when the on-off valve is closed to build pressure from the process gas in an accumulation volume. During an on cycle when the on-off valve is open the wave generation component releases the process gas according to a time constant. A flow restrictor installed downstream in a throat of the on-off valve, outputs the rapid square waves to the conduit at a predefined magnitude. The flow restrictor is selected to have an impedance that is high enough to significantly raise the time constant during the on cycle such that pressure decay in each square wave pulse over the on cycle decreases to within a tolerance, wherein the time constant is at least in part a function of the flow restrictor impedance.
Abstract:
An excess flow valve (EFV) for installation in a service line of natural gas distribution system serving an existing structure. The EFV has a cylindrical housing having a first length and a second length and a through hole therethrough for passage of gas. The EFV 11 engaged in the through hole of the first length and the second length has an expandable wall which can be expanded and fixed in said service line.
Abstract:
A cartridge for a one-way valve, having the shape of an elongated body comprising a first portion, which supports the one-way valve and by means of which it enters a delivery duct, and a second portion, from which a grip portion for the extraction of the cartridge protrudes and remains outside the delivery duct.
Abstract:
A solenoid valve assembly including a process control valve plumbed within a hazardous environment; a solenoid coil mated to the valve and configured to operate the valve, the solenoid coil located within the hazardous environment; a valve coil configured to receive power and transfer that power to the solenoid coil, thereby operating the valve, the valve coil located within the hazardous environment; and a controller coil configured to transmit power to the valve coil, the controller coil located in the hazardous environment.
Abstract:
A first sealing body and a second sealing body made of a resiliently expandable material, such as Kevlar-reinforced rubber, are connected by an intermediate piece that, having a larger wall thickness, is made of the same material, and is flexible, thereby providing the device excellent ability to pass through pipe bends. Together they surround a contiguous cavity into which pressurised air can be introduced via a pressurised air connection disposed on an end plate at a rear end of the device, to expand the diameters of the sealing bodies whereupon the latter tightly close off a test space in a pipe connection. A material feeding connection is connected to a discharge opening in a threaded bushing connecting the intermediate piece to the second sealing body, and a cable connection is connected to a camera facing to the outside that is attached to the bushing.
