Abstract: Disclosed is a label application device for applying a label to an object. The label application device comprises a media roll holder configured to secure a media roll, a tamp arm configured to move from a retracted position to an extended position, and a print head located between the media roll holder and the tamp arm. The print head is configured to receive the media roll, feed the media roll into the print head, and eject the media roll. The tamp arm comprises a tamp pad attached to an end of the tamp arm. The tamp pad comprises a vacuum port configured to suction the media roll against the tamp pad. The tamp arm further comprises a blade attached to the tamp arm. The blade is configured to cut the media roll as the tamp arm moves from the retracted position to the extended position.

Abstract: A medium includes: a heat-sensitive medium subjected to thermal printing; and an adhesive medium to be superimposed on the heat-sensitive medium in a thickness direction and bonded to the heat-sensitive medium. The heat-sensitive medium includes: a surface contacting the adhesive medium; a heat-sensitive medium base material having a transparency; and a first color producing layer having a transparency. The heat-sensitive medium base material has an uneven shape having roughness greater than that of the surface of the heat-sensitive medium. The first color producing layer is configured to produce a first color when heated to a temperature higher than or equal to a first temperature. The adhesive medium includes: an adhesive medium base material; and an adhesive layer provided on the adhesive medium base material. The adhesive layer makes contact with the surface of the heat-sensitive medium so that the adhesive medium is bonded to the heat-sensitive medium.

Abstract: A print consumable may include a rotatable core, a roll of dispensable print substrate, and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag. The roll of the dispensable print substrate may be dispensably secured to the core. The RFID tag may be secured to the core and configured to rotate about a core axis. The RFID tag includes an RFID antenna coupled to an RFID chip. The RFID chip may include a print counter, a stock-keeping unit (SKU) code, and a consumable authentication code. A print system may include a housing, a holder to hold the print consumable, a print head, a transceiver, a trace antenna for reading an RFID tag of the print consumable, and a controller. The controller may be configured to receive a signal from the transceiver indicative of one or more of the print counter, the SKU code, and the consumable authentication code received from the RFID antenna.
