    摘要: An electric thermostatically controlled drip coffeemaker has a generally upright C-shaped housing with a lower horizontal leg having a heated carafe support, an upper horizontal leg having a water spreader, and a vertical leg enclosing an accessible water reservoir. An electrically heated hot water generator in the lower leg has an inlet connected to the water reservoir and an outlet connected to the spreader by tubes through a separate definitive condenser located in the vertical leg entirely below the reservoir. The condenser includes an elongated generally cylindrical member larger in cross section than the connecting tubes and having an off-center radially directed water inlet from the hot water generator at the bottom thereof. Shaped and aligned baffle and flow directing means are disposed in the member to impart a non-swirling, vortex preventing, upward flow to the heated water. A captured, limited travel ball check valve disposed in an outlet at the top of the member permits vertical outflow only. The condenser provides a large condensing volume to eliminate steam delivery to the spreader while operating at lower average temperatures with surfaces almost continuously wetted and allowing high velocity fresh water flow to scrub or tear away accumulated scale deposits to reduce mineral deposition.

    摘要: A tubular enclosure for a pipe which provides air-blanket insulation around the pipe, and an electric heater cable in the enclosure running along the underside of horizontal lengths of the pipe, cooperate in a system to prevent condensation of moisture on the pipe, loss of heat from a hot liquid in the pipe, and, with the benefit of convection in the air-blanket, heat around the pipe from the heater cable, to prevent freezing of the liquid.The tubular enclosure has thin walls of substantially uniform thickness which are corrugated in the direction of the tubular longitudinal axis to provide an array of axially spaced circumferential air cells around the pipe. The innermost diameter of the corrugated enclosure walls is larger than the outer diameter of the pipe to provide space between the enclosure and pipe for the heater cable. The corrugations render the enclosure freely flexible transversely to its longitudinal axis for following the pipe around curves. The enclosure is slit longitudinally to its tubular axis across the corrugations for permitting it to be fitted to an existing water pipe installation.

    摘要: A compact and easily cleaned high pressure heater for paint and the like includes a cylindrical core having a continuous spiral groove in the outer surface. A cylindrical cover having open ends is disposed around and in axially slidable engagement with the core to define with the groove a closed end spiral passageway. A fluid inlet and outlet to the passageway are provided at opposite ends of the cover and the cover is held between a removable end cap secured to one end of the core and a control box attached to the other end thereof. An electric heating element is enclosed in the core and has a pair of leads adapted for connection to a power supply. A thermostat having a sensing element disposed in the core is located in the control box. A current limiting fuse is provided in each of the heater leads and a thermal fuse is provided to protect the heater in the event the thermostat should fail.

A plurality of gas fired generators radiates toward one or more clusters of water conducting tubes forming an efficient absorbing media of infrared energy. The infrared radiation used is in the range of about 1.0 to 6.0 microns in wavelength. The efficient coupling of infrared generators to a heat exchanger mechanism to utilize all available BTU generation is achieved without passage of the energy beyond the tubes and thereby avoiding damage to opposed generators and without substantial carbon monoxide being generated as a product of combustion.

    摘要: When an insulated conductor wire inside a steel tube carries alternating current as one leg of a circuit, and the tube itself carries the A.C. for the return leg, induction and magnetic effects develop which cause the A.C. flow to concentrate on the inner surface or skin of the tube, thus greatly increasing the resistance and the heat produced. No current is carried in the outer wall of tube; thus, there is no loss to ground or other surroundings. The heat-tube may be attached to or constructed so as to become an integral part of the wall of a pipe carrying a fluid, thus heating the pipe and the fluid. It may be the transport pipe itself, or it may heat an unenclosed body of fluid using heat supplied by direct contact of the fluid with both the conductor wire and the tube. The heat-tube may supply A.C. to other circuits either related or independent of the heating effect which may be quite unimportant in some of these cases.
