    摘要: A combined motor and rotational cell for use in an apparatus for measuring components in a gas colorimeter, smoke meter, etc. by utilizing light absorption or fluorescence. The combined motor and rotational cell has a motor with a plurality of magnetic poles around the periphery of thereof, at least one diametrically extending partition wall extending across the hollow interior for defining at least two compartments in the rotor, and optically transparent windows on the outside of the motor closing the compartments. A plate-shaped chopper is provided on one side of the rotor having a plurality of apertures therein equidistantly spaced around the chopper. A casing surrounds the rotor and supports the rotor shaft in bearings and has a plurality of coils around the inside of the peripheral wall opposed to the magnetic poles on the rotor. Apertures are provided in the opposite end walls of the casing aligned with the compartments in the rotor for passing light through the casing and the rotor.

    摘要: A bimodal automatic lens focussing apparatus including detection and switching means for detecting a loss in a localized focal condition and switching to a search mode wherein the objective lens is scanned between its outer limits to reacquire focus. Photodiode arrays sense respective light images on either side of the desired focal plane, and the resulting signals are processed to drive the lens to the desired focal plane. A level discriminator monitors the processed signals. Upon detection of a loss of the localized focus condition a mode switch is gated to couple a ramp generator to the lens driver. The lens is scanned between its outer limits until the level discriminator again detects the localized focus condition and the ramp generator is decoupled from the lens driver.

    摘要: Process for the photo-optical measurement of the absorption behavior of solid, liquid and gaseous media. A measurement light beam from an optical radiation source is made intermittent by a rotating chopper comprising a rotatable metal wheel. The chopper frequency is maintained constant by regulation of the speed of the metal wheel by two alternating-current magnets inducing eddy currents to slow or speed up the wheel. The actual speed of the wheel is detected and compared with a reference speed and the magnitude of the excitation currents is adjusted on the basis of the rotatory speed difference to effect the regulation of the speed of the chopper.

    摘要: An optical designator system employs a remote source of electromagnetic energy, such as a small hand-held infrared LED or the like, to generate an identifying beam which is directed to the same faceplate through which a displayed image is viewed. A diffuser medium is disposed at the image plane along the rear surface of the faceplate and scatters the incident beam of electromagnetic energy toward orthogonal pairs of photodetectors located adjacent to the edges of the faceplate. The output signals from the photodetectors are presented to a normalizer circuit which compensates for intensity variations of the source of electromagnetic energy into the faceplate. Therefore, the output signal from each normalizer circuit varies in a relationship which is proportional to the distance between the photodetectors at which the incident beam strikes the diffuser medium. The remote energy source is preferably modulated with a waveform which is discernible both from background ambient light and that of the displayed image. Optical and electrical filters associated with the photodetectors insure that normalizer circuits respond only to electromagnetic energy from the remote source.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for automatically determining parallax in a stereoscopic system, comprising the steps of: passing at least two imaging light channels through a moving grating structure; converting the light rays into separate electrical signals after passage through the grating structure; subtracting one of the electrical signals from the other to produce a signal difference; differentiating one of the electrical signals to produce a differentiated signal; multiplying the signal difference by the differentiated signal to produce a first multiplied signal; and controlling the orientation of one of the imaging light rays in response to the multiplied signal. Also disclosed is our apparatus for carrying out this method.

Signals from the separate storage channels are directed to an analyzing means in a predetermined sequence by the gating means and sequencing within the analyzing means is also accomplished thereby. Furthermore, comparative analysis between signals corresponding with two positions of the beam switch is provided at the input to and/or the output from the separate storage channels.

    摘要: A spectral sensor operating with a radiation sensitive detector employs a pulsed signal. A chopper is interposed in the radiation path comprising a needle of a moving needle meter whose needle is restrained at its tip. An alternating current applied to its coil causes the needle to vibrate, alternately exposing and blocking the detector. The sensor is low cost, and sensitive enough to respond to a temperature differential between a normal area and an inflamed area of a human body. Operating ranges can be varied by adjustment of electrical circuits or by interchangeable filters.

    摘要: A focus detecting system includes a lens device for forming an image of an object on a predetermined plane through an optical path. A light gate positioned in the optical path is operable to alternately mask a portion of the optical path. A light responsive device is positioned at the predetermined plane to respond to the unmasked light from the lens device for producing electrical signals representative of the instaneous intensity distribution of the light received thereby. The intensity of the light falling on the light responsive device is modulated by the action of the light gate and varies as a function of the condition of focus of the image. A signal processing circuit responds to the electrical signals to provide an output signal indicative of the condition of focus of the image.

    摘要: A focus detecting system includes a lens device for forming an image of an object on a predetermined plane through an optical path. A light responsive device is positioned at the predetermined plane to respond to the light from the lens device for producing electrical signals representative of the instaneous intensity of the image formed thereon. A movable and a stationary apertured masks are arranged in the optical path between the lends device and the light responsive device to cyclically vary the light angle of access from the lens device to the light responsive device as the apertures in the movable mask are cyclically moved with respect to corresponding apertures in the stationary mask. The intensity distribution of the light falling on the light responsive device is modulated by the operation of the masks and varies as a function of the condition of focus of the image. A signal processing circuit responds to the electrical signals to provide an output signal indicative of condition of focus of the image.
