摘要： The system herein includes light optic means which functions as a light beam distributor in making available one or more of a plurality of input beams at any of a plurality of differently positioned output paths of the system as opposed to the more well known line scan beam deflection systems. The input source of light may be from one or more sources of radiant energy, each providing a different color of light, whereupon such energy is combined and directed along a common output path. Also, the system herein includes such optic means for converting a given cross sectional dimension of the one or more beams admitted thereto to a unitary, relatively smaller cross section, beam of radiant energy.

摘要： For use in a laser television projector or the like, a scanning system employing a rotary scanner which permits large angles to be scanned with reduced scanner rotational speeds. The rotary scanner is a hollow cylinder of refractive material having reflective internal surfaces defining a prism. A stationary refractor member surrounds a portion of the hollow cylinder and has a complementary curved surface in close proximity to the cylindrical outer surface thereof. The beam to be deflected passes through the refractor member before and after deflection by the reflective surfaces; thus the deflection angle is increased by refraction as the beam exits from the refractor into the surrounding air.

摘要： An optical switch for fiber-optic light guides utilizes an electrically induced change in the index of refraction of the switch material to produce the switching effect. Electrode rings are spaced along a cylindrical member of electro-optic switch material, which is placed between two sections of a fiber-optic light guide. When a voltage is applied between the electrodes, an electric field is produced in the switch material causing a change in the index of refraction and the creation of a light guide through the switch material. Removal of the voltage will destroy the guide in the switch material, thereby blocking transmission.

摘要： A reflecting element has at least one curved surface having a first plane of symmetry and being operative for reflecting incident light. A varying element is provided for varying the character of the reflector light and has a second symmetry paralleling the first plane. 摘要： A wedge of transparent material having first and second angularly displaced faces is positioned in a controllable manner with respect to a right angle prism with one of the faces of the wedge parallel to the hypotenuse face of the prism. 摘要： In a photoelectric position-determining apparatus a device for generating an oscillating light beam is disclosed. The device comprises a light source, a diaphragm, oscillating optical elements, and a driving mechanism therefor. The diaphragm is mounted in a stationary position and the optical elements, which may be prisms or double mirrors, are arranged behind the diaphragm in the direction of the light flux. The first optical element oscillates in a plane which is parallel to the plane of the diaphragm and almost perpendicular to the direction of the impinging light. As a consequence of this arrangement the light beam oscillates with an amplitude double the width of the oscillation amplitude of the mechanical driving mechanism. A second optical element is disposed in a lateral offset manner with respect to the first optical element and oscillates in the parallel plane so that the directions of oscillation of the first and second optical elements are positioned at an angle with respect to each other.
