摘要: In an insulation displacement connector including a retainer, a turn-down portion of a retainer is fit to hood portions provided at an end of an outer wall having electric wire insertion holes opened in a connector housing. Contacts are pressed by an inner portion of the turn-down portion. The connector housing is held by holding portions which continue to opposite sides of the turn-down portion. Further, the holding portions are engaged with the connector housing against a direction of drawing-out the contacts.

摘要: A housing (10) is formed with resin locks (15) that cantilever forward along inner walls of cavities (13) into which terminal fittings (30) can be inserted, and a mold-removal space (17) extends from the resin locks (15) to the front end surface of the housing (10). A loose movement restricting member (20) is fit into the mold-removal space (17) and contacts the terminal fittings (30) to restrict loose movement of the terminal fittings (30). The width of the mold-removal space (17) can be set freely because a part separate from the housing (10) is fitted into the mold-removal space (17) for restricting the loose movements of the terminal fittings (30). Therefore, the resin locks (15) can be wide and sufficiently strong.

摘要: The invention provides a means to stabilise and fix the position of a retainer in a connector having the retainer attached thereto by means of being inserted into a retainer attachment hole opening onto an anterior face of a connector housing. Male terminal fittings 20 inserted into a connector housing 10 are maintained therein by a removal preventing member 41 of a retainer 40 inserted into a retainer attachment hole 17. Guiding members 42 formed on the retainer 40 enter the retainer attachment hole 17 before the removal preventing member 41 enters therein. Consequently, the retainer 40 is stabilised and maintained in position relative to the connector housing 10 while it is being attached to the retainer attachment hole 17.

摘要: The invention provides a connector wherein the half-inserted state of a retainer is detected at a location to the anterior of the retainer, relative to the fitting direction of two connector housings. A retainer 30 is inserted into a terminal housing member 21 of a male housing 20 from an outer side thereof. This retainer 30 has a locking arm 36 provided in a unified manner thereon, the locking arm 36 protruding towards the anterior and posterior. The retainer 30 can be maintained in a semi-retaining position, which is located at the outer side, and a fully-retaining position, which is located at the inner side. A female housing 10 is provided with a groove 11, the locking arm 36 entering this groove 11 when the retainer 30 is attached to the male housing 20 in the fully-retaining position. A locking protrusion 12, which is formed within the groove 11, is capable of engaging with the locking arm 36. If the two housings 10 and 20 are fitted together when the retained 30 is in a half-inserted state, so that the retainer 30 is located towards the outer side relative to its fully retaining position, the locking arm 36 strikes a side wall 13 which surrounds the groove 11 of the female housing 10, thereby preventing the two housings 10 and 20 from being fitted together.

摘要: An electrical connector is provided that includes a connector housing that receives a terminal contact. The housing includes a deflectable bar and a terminal position assurance (TPA) device. The TPA device is loaded on the housing to engage the bar and is moveable between a staged position and a locked position with respect to the bar. The TPA device includes a beam having a latch that causes the bar to deflect in bending and twisting with respect to the TPA device as the TPA device is loaded. The bar includes a slot that receives the latch when the TPA device moves into the locked position.
