Abstract: A device may receive, from a user equipment, a token request associated with an application, wherein the token request is associated with a device identifier. The device may generate a device token for the application and the user equipment. The device may provide, using the device identifier, the device token to the user equipment to enable a user to access the application via an application platform. The device may receive, from the application platform, a slice request for a network slice of a network that is to be used for an application session. The device may determine that the user equipment is associated with the application session based on the device token and the device identifier. The device may configure a network slice instance of the network slice. The device may determine a user equipment route selection policy for the application session according to the network slice instance.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for performing Wi-Fi authentication in a wireless communication system. Public key cryptography may be used to enhance the confidentiality of the user's permanent identity in transit. In some embodiments, a RSA-OAEP(SHA-256) encryption scheme may be used to protect the permanent identity when the EAP client needs to send the user's permanent identity to the server in the absence of pseudonym or fast re-authentication identity. In some embodiments, a server certificate is used to authenticate a iWLAN tunnel to protect an IMSI during setup of a Wi-Fi call. Using the methods described herein on both or either of the EAP client and server side may offer improved privacy protection.

Abstract: A method for selecting a user plane function when a user equipment (UE) attaches to a wireless communication network may include determining a data throughput limit associated with the UE, identifying a first user plane function having a first data throughput capacity, and identifying a second user plane function having a second data throughput capacity, wherein the first throughput capacity is higher than the second throughput capacity. The method may further include selecting the first user plane function if the data throughput limit of the UE is above a predetermined threshold, selecting the second user plane function if the data throughput limit of the UE is below the predetermined threshold, and sending a session request to the selected first or second user plane function.

Abstract: Embodiments of the prevent disclosure provide a network access authentication method and device. The method includes: receiving an authentication request message sent by a first serving network, the authentication request message carrying a user equipment alias identifier generated by user equipment; determining whether a local user equipment alias identifier is asynchronous with the user equipment alias identifier generated by the user equipment; and when the determination result is positive, obtaining an encrypted International Mobile Subscriber Identification Number IMSI for performing network access authentication on the user equipment.

Abstract: In one illustrated example, automated or semi-automated system operations for Massive IoT (MIoT) deployment may involve the automatic assignment of external IDs, subscriber IDs (e.g. IMSIs), and mobile network IDs (e.g. MSISDNs) to IoT devices of a group, followed by the provisioning of assigned identities at the relevant network nodes and the IoT devices themselves. The process may continue seamlessly with network slice orchestration for the creation of a network slice instance (NSI) and the provisioning of its associated Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (NSSAI) and NSI ID at the relevant network nodes. Network Slice Selection Policies (NSSP) may be derived and sent to a policy function and subsequently to IoT devices of the group. Signaling efficiency may be achieved by performing operations on a group basis.

Abstract: The invention is a method for communication between a server and a user equipment through a set of command/response pairs. The user equipment uses an IMSI field of an Attach Request frame as defined by ETSI TS 124.008 to convey a command to the server. The server uses an Authentication parameter RAND field or an Authentication parameter AUTN field of an Authentication Request frame as defined by ETSI TS 124.008 to convey a response corresponding to the received command. The server sends the Authentication Request frame in response to the Attach Request frame.
