    摘要: A locking dowel assembly for joining wooden objects without glue or screws includes a pair of cups. Each of the cups is inserted into a well in a respective pair of objects intended for joining together. A pair of inserts is provided and each of the inserts is positioned against each other such that the pair of inserts forms a cylinder. The cylinder is inserted into each of the cups for joining the objects together. A retainer is positioned between each of the inserts and the retainer has a plurality of teeth thereon. The teeth engage the cups when the insert is inserted into each of the cups thereby retaining the inserts in the cups.

    摘要: Presented herein is a connector forming a joint between first and second surfaces. The connector includes a hollow male member embedded in a first surface. The male member has open ended protrusion extending therefrom. A hollow female member to be embedded in second surface. The female member has a mating opening for receiving the protrusion and a flexible sealing means for forming a fluid tight seal between the female and male members. When installed, a tendon forms part of the first surface and extends through protrusion into female member. Prior to grouting, movement of the tendon during settling of first surface is facilitated by the male and female member, without breaking the fluid tight seal formed by flexible sealing means. Also presented is a method of forming a joint between a vertical surface and a horizontal surface.

    摘要: A floor dowel sleeve has a body portion with a top wall, a bottom wall, two side walls, and an end wall that together to surround an interior cavity. The interior cavity is configured to receive a dowel plate at an opening in the body portion opposite the end wall. Spacing elements are disposed at each of the two side walls and are configured to interface with opposing edges of the dowel plate to provide a space between the dowel plate and interior surfaces of the two side walls. The spacing elements each have a pair of legs that integrally protrude from the side wall into the interior cavity and interconnect to form a spacing chamber. The spacing elements are each configured to flex into the spacing chamber upon lateral horizontal movement of the dowel plate within the interior cavity.

    摘要: An improved connector for use in forming joints between two surfaces. The improved connector has a housing with an enlarged seal housing at a first end and a sealing screen adapted for receipt in the enlarged seal housing. The sealing screen incorporates an elastic membrane that surrounds an aperture. The aperture is adapted to sealingly engage a dowel bar. This engagement means that movement of the dowel bar laterally, vertically or telescopically is accommodated for by the elastic membrane in a manner that ensures that the dowel bar remains sealing engaged by the aperture.

    摘要: A concrete dowel placement system and methods for making the same. The system allows for accurate and easy substantially-parallel or parallel placement of slip dowels within sections of concrete so that adjacent sections of concrete may be allowed to undergo thermal expansion and contraction while remaining in a common plane without cracking or faulting. The system includes a coupler and a sheath. The sheath is configured to be slidably extensible over the coupler and may be held to the coupler by friction. An outer surface of the sheath may be textured. Additionally, a method of constructing the concrete dowel placement system includes extruding material to form two tubes of different sizes. The tubes are then attached to each other, then material is extruded or injection molded to form a sheath. Alternatively, construction may include extruding material to form a tube, then removing some of the material from the tube in order to form a coupler.
