    摘要: The specification discloses apparatus for aligning rotatable in-line machine shafts. In a preferred embodiment, the invention provides an alignment system having a sensed point positioned for rotation with the shaft to be aligned to provide a reference point against which misalignment is measured. The position of the sensed point is adjustable in three-dimensional space by an adjustment system so that the sensed point may be easily secured in a desired location to eliminate errors attributable to movement of the sensed point or improper location of the sensed point. In addition, the alignment system provides a capacitive displacement system to more accurately sense the sensed point, binary blocks to facilitate proper vertical positioning of the sensed point, and an improved chain assembly to facilitate mounting of the alignment system and to reduce errors of the type common to conventional alignment systems.

    摘要: Apparatus for centering and axial and parallel alignment a pair of rotatable shafts. An alignment collar assembly is adapted to fit over and around the periphery of a flanged end of a shaft or an adapter on the shaft. The alignment collar has mating halves for easy assembly and disassembly and has roller means adapted to engage both the periphery and the underside of the flanged end to permit a 360.degree. rotation of the alignment collar assembly relative to the shaft. The alignment collar assembly is also adapted to support one or more gages for determining the axial and parallel position of the pair of rotatable shafts relative to each other.

    摘要: Alignment apparatus for use in conjunction with other equipment for alignment rolls on processing equipment comprising a housing having a central longitudinal axis and a coaxial central bore having a generally cylindrical inner surface and a plug having a generally cylindrical outer surface dimensioned so that the plug may be rotatably mounted in the central bore with a longitudinal axis of the plug in coaxial relationship with the longitudinal axis of the central bore and with planar surfaces of the plug and the housing at the end of the central bore in mating engagement. The plug has an eccentric bore having a tapered inner surface with a longitudinal axis extending parallel to but offset from the longitudinal axis of the plug and an optical target having a support stem having a tapered outer surface adapted to be inserted in the eccentric bore so that the longitudinal axis thereof coincides with the longitudinal axis of the eccentric bore and so that rotation of the plug causes the optical target to move in lateral directions. The target is adjustable relative to the support stem so that the center of the target may be precisely positioned on the longitudinal axis of the support stem. Also, force applying apparatus is provided for ensuring the stability of the optical target during the rotation of the plug and for locking the plug in a desired position.

    摘要: A method for aligning a X-ray beam collimator to a linear array X-ray detector. The method computes a horizontal centerline on the detector and a horizontal centerline the collimator. The horizontal centerlines are then aligned. Vertical centerlines are computed for the detector and collimator. A thickness for a shim is computed from the difference in the vertical centerlines. The collimator is installed on vertical standoffs with the shims inserted between the collimator and standoffs. The shims align the collimator and detector in the vertical direction.

    摘要: The design of a geometric instrument which is used during the construction of the various cake layers or tiers of the wedding cake so that each cake layer is centered on a common vertical centerline, and both the support posts that are embedded in each layer of the cake, as well as the ornamental support posts, are positioned on two diametrical lines that are perpendicular to each other. This cake tier aligner has a lower pair of parallel support rails, a vertical column rising at one end of the lower rails and an upper pair of parallel guide rails supported from the upper end of the vertical column directly over and generally parallel to the lower support rails. The lower support rails include side stabilizing means, and the upper guide rails include measured indicia. There is a separate centering platform for supporting a cake layer above the lower support rails of the aligner. This centering platform includes a diagonal indexing means on its underside which slips between the lower support rails. The centering platform also has stabilizing support means on its underside to support the platform from a support surface independent of the cake tier aligner. The upper surface of the platform includes two series of depressions arranged diagonally of the platform that are generally perpendicular to each other.

    摘要: A chain alignment tool to assist the alignment of a chain sprocket with respect to its chain. The tool is placed over a sprocket at a point where its chain tangentially contacts the sprocket. The tool is tightened against the sprocket and becomes aligned with the sprocket. The tool has an attached pointer which extends outwardly in a direction parallel to the surface of the sprocket. The end of the pointer should align with the chain if the chain is in alignment with the sprocket.
