    摘要: A multi-state indicator comprises a voltage generator, for generating M voltages, with M being an integer larger than 3; and a multi-state detector, coupled to the voltage generator, for receiving M voltages, having a voltage input end for receiving an input voltage to generate an indication signal whereby the indication signal is capable of indicating the input voltage with reference to the M voltages. Unlike the prior art, a multi-state detector having level shifters according to the present invention alleviates problems of static currents and over-large areas for circuits implementing typical differential comparators.

    摘要: A device for measuring alternating voltage in a conductor under test using a first set of capacitive voltage sensors 32a-f mounted on an electrically insulating support member. The sensors are disposed on the support member at spaced intervals along a first notional circle and are connected in parallel between an inner signal conductor 33 and a zero voltage reference conductor 37. A second set of capacitive voltage sensors 34a-f are mounted on the support member at spaced intervals along a second notional circle and are connected in parallel between an outer signal conductor 35 and the reference conductor 37. The support member is configured to allow a conductor under test 38 to be introduced into the interior of the device so that the sensors surround the axis of the conductor. Each sensor has a signal electrode 48 connected to the signal conductor and a reference electrode 50 connected to the reference conductor and is orientated with the signal electrode facing the conductor under test. The voltage in the conductor under test is derived as a function of the voltage across the signal conductor and the reference conductor.

    摘要: A device for providing a voltage indicating the angular velocity of rotation of the armature in a limited rotation, polarized, moving iron galvanometer. The device includes a means for providing a first voltage dependent upon the angular velocity of the armature, the self-inductance of the galvanometer drive coil, and the drive current in the drive coil. A compensation coil is magnetically coupled to the drive coil and magnetically isolated from the effects of the rotating armature to provide a second voltage which is dependent upon mutual inductance between the drive and compensation coils and upon the drive current, but is not dependent upon the effects of the rotating armature due to the magnetic isolation of the compensation coil from the armature. A combining means proportionally combines the first and second voltages to provide a voltage indicating the angular velocity of rotation of the armature. The means for providing the first voltage includes either the drive coil, with the first voltage appearing across the drive coil, or a pickoff coil wound coaxially with and adjacent to the drive coil so that the first voltage appears across the pickoff coil and is proportional to the voltage appearing across the drive coil. The velocity signal thus derived is introduced to the drive circuit to provide effective damping.

    摘要: There is disclosed a moving magnet meter of inexpensive construction which has the greater sensitivity, linearity and immunity from extraneous fields of moving coil meters. The rotor consists of a closed magnetic circuit through which a permanent magnet flux flows. The flux intersects the turns of a stationary coil through which the current to be measured flows, part of the closed magnetic circuit rotating within the coil. The strength and area of the permanent magnet flux which intersects the coil is substantially constant throughout an operating angle for the rotor of at least 90.degree.. The return torque for the rotor is derived from a stationary permanent magnet which interacts with the rotor flux and provides a return torque which varies linearly with the rotor angle.
