Abstract:
A display system includes a screen and a plurality of projectors configured to illuminate the screen with light. The light forms a three dimensional (3D) object for display in a viewing region. The system further includes one or more processors configured to generate image information associated with the 3D object. The image information is calibrated to compensate for a projector bias of the plurality of projectors by transforming a projector perspective of the 3D object to a viewing region perspective.
Abstract:
A three dimensional display apparatus includes a diffraction panel for displaying a computer generated hologram and a look-up table. The look-up table includes a plurality of phase entries corresponding to a plurality of image points within a three dimensional image replay volume of the computer generated hologram. The apparatus further includes one or more processors configured to notionally divide the computer generated hologram into one or more hogels and to calculate diffraction fringe information for at least one of the hogels based on a selection of the phase entries.
Abstract:
A system and method for automatically configuring a network so that each switch in the network is aware of the Multiple Spanning Tree Instances (MSTI) of each other switch and the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) that each switch uses. This is achieved through the use of controllers connected to each switch. A master switch is elected and the master switch monitors messages to determine if a switch should be using an alternative MISTI. If so, the master switch instructs a switch to use an alternative MSTI. Either a switch or a node connected to the switch may determine which VLAN to use in sending messages, subject to configuration from the controller of the master switch. Messages are periodically sent by each controller to educate other controllers to aid in learning which node is part of a group connected to a switch, the switch in turn connected to a controller.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented system and method for the processing and presentation of customizable aviation information is disclosed. At plurality of flight information is received over a digital network and is stored in at least a database. The database includes aviation information as well as aviation related content and advertisements. The user is able to customize a series of screen layouts for display using a combination of screen segments containing content stored at least partially in the database. In addition, the user may create personalized messages and status update for display in response to a variety of flight conditions. In one form, the results may be presented using a large display monitor by an aircraft service provider. Additionally, the display may include only flight tracking information relevant to recent and future customers.
Abstract:
A fastener for a plastic bag includes first and second mutually engageable track portions and a slider for engaging and disengaging the track portions. In a preferred embodiment, the slider includes a core portion and an end portion. The core portion is made of a first material having a first preselected material property. The end portion is made of a second material having a second preselected material property and is arranged at opposing ends of the slider.
Abstract:
A rod holder connects to a boat and holds a fly rod, a spinning rod or a casting rod. The rod holder generally includes a base member having a connection portion that connects to the boat and a holder member that couples to the base member. The holder member has a first end including a first holder portion and a second end including a second holder portion. The first end is distal from the second end. The first holder portion includes a base and at least one wall connected to the base. A first dimension defines a distance between the first holder portion and the second holder portion. A second dimension defines a distance between the base and an edge of the at least one wall. The edge is distal from the base. A ratio of the first distance to the second distance is in a range from about 2 to 1 to about 24 to 1.
Abstract:
A device suitable for use in the sterilization of a fluid such as a biological fluid or a fraction thereof, containing lymphocytes and/or micro-organisms, comprising a vessel having an inlet and an outlet and a passage which extends non-tortuously therebetween. A heat exchange device with a heat exchange surface is in substantially direct thermal contact with the interior of the passage. A temperature controller maintains the temperature of fluid in the passage below a temperature at which fluid components may form insoluble particles during irradiation. The passage has a wall which is substantially transparent to a lymphocyte and/or micro-organism inactivating radiation. The passage contains a static mixer device for thoroughly mixing the fluid so as to bring the whole of the fluid into an irradiation zone extending along and adjacent the passage walls and into contact with the heat exchange surface.
Abstract:
A defibrillator with an automatic self-test system that includes a test signal generator and a defibrillator status indicator. The test system preferably performs functional tests and calibration verification tests automatically in response to test signals generated periodically and/or in response to predetermined conditions or events and indicates the test results visually and audibly. The invention also relates to a method for automatically determining and indicating a defibrillator's status without human intervention.
Abstract:
An electrotherapy method and apparatus for delivering a multiphasic waveform from an energy source to a patient. The preferred embodiment of the method comprises the steps of charging the energy source to an initial level; discharging the energy source across the electrodes to deliver electrical energy to the patient in a multiphasic waveform; monitoring a patient-dependent electrical parameter during the discharging step; shaping the waveform of the delivered electrical energy based on a value of the monitored electrical parameter, wherein the relative duration of the phases of the multiphasic waveform is dependent on the value of the monitored electrical parameter. The preferred apparatus comprises an energy source; two electrodes adapted to make electrical contact with a patient; a connecting mechanism forming an electrical circuit with the energy source and the electrodes when the electrodes are attached to a patient; and a controller operating the connecting mechanism to deliver electrical energy from the energy source to the electrodes in a multiphasic waveform the relative phase durations of which are based on an electrical parameter monitored during delivery of the electrical energy. The preferred defibrillator apparatus weighs less than 4 pounds and has a volume less than 150 cubic inches, and most preferably, weighs approximately three pounds or less and has a volume of approximately 141 cu.in.
