摘要: Methods and systems that analyze electrocardiogram (ECG) data to identify whether it would be beneficial for a caregiver to administer an electric shock to the heart in an effort to get the heart back into a normal pattern and a consistent, strong beat. By conducting a running check for conditions that are pre-validated by a comprehensive patient database to have high predictive value (e.g., with a low false-positive rate), a shockable rhythm can be identified fast (e.g., less than 6 seconds, less than 3 seconds, possibly in less than a second) and without having to analyze ECG data for longer time segments than would otherwise be required using conventional methods.

摘要: A superior wearable cardioverter defibrillator is disclosed. Embodiments provide one or more remote sensors (e.g., ECG electrodes) that are separable from the rest of the WCD system, which holds the defibrillation electrodes on the body and may also hold a preamplifier for the electrodes. This feature enablesECG electrodes (or other physiological sensors) to be more securely affixed to the patient's body without adversely affecting the patient's desire to don the rest of the WCD.

摘要: A wearable cardioverter defibrillator system includes a support structure that a patient can wear. The system also includes electrodes that contact the patient, and define two or more channels from which ECG signals are sensed. A processor may evaluate the channels by analyzing their respective ECG signals, to determine which contains less noise than the other(s). The analysis can be by extracting statistics from the ECG signals, optionally after first processing them, and then by comparing these statistics. These statistics may include tall peak counts, amplitudes of peaks compared to historical peak amplitudes, signal baseline shift, dwell time near a baseline, narrow peak counts, zero crossings counts, determined heart rates, and so on. Once the less noisy signal is identified, its channel can be followed preferentially or to the exclusion of other channels, for continuing monitoring and/or determining whether to shock the patient.

摘要: A WCD system is configured to detect when a therapy administered to a patient by the WCD system is unsuccessful, and in response determine whether to send notifications to remote non-witness responders. The WCD system may be configured to decide to send such notifications after the WCD system determines it has administered a predetermined number of unsuccessful shocks to the patient. The predetermined number of unsuccessful shocks may be the maximum number of unsuccessful shocks the WCD system will administer to a patient, or every Xth shock (e.g., 3rd shock). The WCD system can be configured to periodically resend the notification. The notifications may be in form of SMS, voice messages, emails, app notifications, etc. sent to cell phones, smartphones, computers, laptops, tablets etc. of the responders either directly, via a server, or via a CAD-coupled server.

摘要: A defibrillator system optimizes the timing and manner of applying a defibrillator charge to a patient based upon data provided to the defibrillator from a utility module or one or more external devices. A parameter module on the utility module provides the defibrillator with patient parameter information. Devices external to the utility module may provide the utility module with coaching data that the utility module may pass through to the defibrillator as a proxy to the external devices. The utility module may also provide external devices with patient data that the utility module may pass through to the external devices as a proxy to the defibrillator on a scheduled or other basis. The utility module may additionally provide a reserve of power to enable defibrillators to be used where power is unavailable and to enable defibrillators to deliver multiple charges more readily anywhere, anytime.

摘要: An implantable medical device includes a low-power circuit and a multi-cell power source. The cells of the power source are coupled in a parallel configuration. The implantable medical device includes both a low power circuit that is selectively coupled between the first and second cells and a high power output circuit that is directly coupled to the first and second cells in a parallel configuration. An isolation circuit is coupled to the first cell, the second cell and the low power circuit to maintain a current isolation between the first cell and the second cell at least during delivery of current having a large magnitude to the high power output circuit.

摘要: An apparatus may be configured for documenting a code blue scenario when adhered to the chest of a subject undergoing resuscitation by sensing and transmitting information associated with the code blue scenario. Such information may include one or more of vital signs of the subject during resuscitation, information associated with chest movements of the subject during resuscitation, and audio information from an environment of the subject during resuscitation. A computing platform that is separate and distinct from the apparatus may provide code blue documentation conveying information related to the vital signs of the subject and derived from the audio information from the environment of the subject during resuscitation.

摘要: Sample and hold circuitry for monitoring electrodes and other voltages in an implantable neurostimulator is disclosed. The sample and hold circuitry in one embodiment contains multiplexers to selected appropriate voltages and to pass them to two storage capacitors during two different measurement phases. The capacitors are in a later stage serially connected to add the two voltages stored on the capacitors, and voltages present at the top and bottom of the serial connection are then input to a differential amplifier to compute their difference. The sample and hold circuitry is particularly useful in calculating the resistance between two electrodes, and is further particularly useful when resistance is measured using a biphasic pulse. The sample and hold circuitry is flexible, and can be used to measure other voltages of interest during biphasic or monophasic pulsing.
