    Abstract: Disclosed is a device for pressurizing a viscous fluid contained in a drum, the device includes a follower plate vertically movable along a perpendicular axis passing through the center of the drum, the follower plate: is movable between a first position outside the drum and a second position inside the drum, to exert pressure on the viscous fluid; has a transfer port intended to be connected to a means of pumping capable of transferring the pressurized fluid. The device further includes an energy storage unit and restoration connected to the support system, the storage unit being capable of storing energy under the effect of the pressure exerted by the support system and of restoring it to the follower plate in order to maintain the viscous fluid under pressure.

    Abstract: A method heats a furnace process chamber with the combustion of fuel gas. The method heats the process chamber in a preheat mode when the temperature of the process chamber is below the autoignition temperature of the fuel gas. The preheat mode forms preheated combustion air by directing the combustion air through a regenerative bed. A stream of the preheated combustion air is directed into the process chamber in a condition unmixed with fuel gas. The preheat mode also forms a fuel rich mixture of the fuel gas and unheated combustion air. The fuel rich mixture is directed into the process chamber adjacent to the stream of preheated combustion air.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for changing the rolls on a rolling mill for rolling a metal strip, carried out using a Quarto rolling mill, including lower and upper working and support rolls. The installation includes a system for extracting the working rolls and the support rolls, including: an actuator pushing the rolls out of the roll stand extraction; a coupling head, secured to the actuator, situated in a position of opening of the roll stand, including: a first coupler driving the chock or the end of the lower working roll, on the rolling-mill drive side; a second coupler driving the chock of the lower support roll, on the rolling-mill drive side. The first and second coupler allow successive extractions of the working rolls and then of the support rolls from the roll stand using the actuator of the extraction system. Also disclosed is a related rolling mill installation.

    Abstract: A multistage multi-lane singulator conveyor system for separating side by side packages in stages. A first high friction surface conveying moving articles forward is adjacent a second low friction conveying lane in lateral flow communication having both forward and lateral conveying forces urging parcels forward and away from the first conveying lane, wherein the second conveying lane can be level or transversely inclined and angled upward in lateral flow communication with a third high friction surface conveying surface.
