Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for sacral and trochanteric support and off-loading. The system provides a ultra low pressure plenum and a positioner. The patient body size and size and corresponding surface area of the positioner control the amount of gas which is displaced evenly against the walls of the ultra low pressure plenum to allow the combination of the ultra low pressure plenum and the positioner to slightly lift a patient from a bed surface, thereby offloading the sacrum and trochanter. The positioner can be an ultra low pressure bladder.

Abstract: Disclosed are materials comprising a fiber material and an agent having at least one having improved tensile strength, in particular wet tensile strength, vis-à-vis fiber materials known from the art. While these fiber materials may be of use in various fields, in particular household products, hygiene products and the like, these fiber materials are of particular use in wound treatment. Also disclosed is a method for producing these materials.

Abstract: Disclosed is a medical dressing having a pad and a border portion. The pad can have a rim and the border portion extends along said rim. The medical dressing can be arranged in a first substantially planar configuration and be folded along a first line, and a second portion of said medical dressing is formed and a second substantially cup-shaped configuration. The first portion can be facing and contacting said second portion. Said first substantially planar configuration the first and second portions can be connected by means of a fixed connection along a second line, which defines a second line segment having a first and a second end-point. The first and second line segments are connected at their respective first end-points such that an angle between 90 and 175 degrees is formed between the first and second line segments when the medical dressing is in the first substantially planar configuration.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing patient compliance with a treatment are disclosed. An example method can comprise receiving data indicative of a time on active therapy. The method can comprise receiving data indicative of a pressure associated with the time on active therapy. The method can further comprise determining a patient compliance factor based on the data indicative of the time on active therapy and the data indicative of the pressure associated with the time on active therapy. The method can comprise determining a graphical object modifier based on the patient compliance factor and displaying a graphical object based on the graphical object modifier.

Abstract: A medical dressing is provided. The dressing has a central portion and a border portion, and comprises a backing layer, an adhesive body contact layer and a pad arranged in the central portion between the backing layer and the adhesive body contact layer. The pad is symmetric about a longitudinal center line and the dressing comprises a lobed portion on each side of the center line. The central portion of the dressing has a tensile strength in the longitudinal (y) direction of at least 60 N, preferably at least 70 N at an elongation of 25%, as measured by the test method ASTM D 882-12. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at the sacrum region of a human body.
