Abstract:
A signal transmission/reception apparatus of a communication system. The signal transmission apparatus receives an information vector, encodes the information vector into a structured Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codeword using a structured LDPC coding scheme, and transmits the generated structured LDPC code to the signal reception apparatus. Then the signal reception apparatus receives a signal, and detects an information vector by decoding the received signal using a decoding scheme corresponding to the structured LDPC coding scheme used in the signal transmission apparatus.
Abstract:
A method for encoding a rate-compatible block Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. The method includes designing specific LDPC codes for a predetermined number of coding rates, and generating a pruning pattern by comparing information node degrees of the predetermined number of LDPC codes; matching check node degrees of the predetermined number of LDPC codes; generating a predetermined number of puncturing patterns according to the check node degree when the matched check node degree is calculated; determining whether a first condition given for the generated puncturing patterns is satisfied; and determining the generated puncturing patterns as rate-compatible puncturing patterns when the puncturing patterns satisfy the first condition.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of transmitting common control information by a base station in a communication system including a first communication system and a second communication system different from each other. In the communication system, a frame for carrying the common control information includes an uplink sub-frame and a downlink sub-frame, each of which includes a resource allocation area for the first communication system and a resource allocation area for the second communication system. The method includes: configuring the common control information to be received by a mobile station belonging to the second communication system; and transmitting the common control information through the resource allocation area for the second communication system included in one of the uplink sub-frame and the downlink sub-frame.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of providing relay service in a broadband wireless access (BWA) communication are provided. The communication method includes dividing an entire frequency band into a plurality of bands to support a plurality of links; determining subcarrier allocation schemes for the divided bands independently from one another; and communicating using the determined subcarrier allocation schemes by the plurality of the links. When the direct link and the relay link are distinguished through the frequency multiplexing in the multihop relay BWA communication system, the present invention enables the independent channel estimation from the relay link by adopting the dedicated pilot based permutation scheme for the relay link.

Abstract:
Apparatus and method of providing transparent relay service to a Mobile Station (MS) in a multihop relay Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system. The communication method includes checking, at at least one relay station (RS), a sounding channel allocated to an MS by analyzing a message broadcast from a Base Station (BS); measuring, at the BS, an BS-MS signaling level using a sounding signal of the MS, the sounding signal received in the sounding channel; measuring, at the at least one RS, an RS-MS signaling level using a sounding signal of the MS, the sounding signal received in the sounding channel; reporting, at the at least one RS, the RS-MS signaling level measurement value to the BS; and selecting, at the BS, an RS suitable for the MS using the BS-MS signaling level measurement value and at least one RS-MS signaling level measurement value reported from the at least one RS. Accordingly, the BS can select a suitable RS for the MS by taking into account the RS-MS channel status.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of transparently relaying a signal in a direct link and a relay link using the same frequency band in a multihop relay Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system. The method includes designating a start point of an asynchronous frame of the relay link by taking into account of a broadcast channel transmission interval of the direct link frame; and making a frame interval of the relay link null, where a transmission (Tx) mode of the direct link overlaps with another Tx mode. Accordingly, serving cell service coverage expansion and backward compatibility are achieved and a frame is constructed by selecting an optimum frame interval according to system information of the serving cell service. Therefore, efficient wireless access service can be provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of controlling an action change gap interval in a multi-hop relay cellular network, includes constructing a first symbol included in a first frame as a first interval for a first action change and a second interval for exchanging data; and constructing a last symbol included in the first frame as a first interval for exchanging data and a second interval for a second action change. Accordingly, the system capacity and the system efficiency can be raised by reducing the overhead due to the action change gap in the cellular network.
